Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

are living or who want to live in Ukraine, they are not
allowed to apply for the KNU Open University. A
student has to apply for on Campus programs alone.
3. Open University is designed to meet the needs of
international students only who are living outside of the
Ukraine. When the students do not say the true where he
lives during the application, he will be stopped from the
program at once when it is found out that he lied and he
will not be given any refund or other explanation nor
confirmation. When a student applies for a KNU OU
program, it means that he fulfills the requirements.
4. The University offers online education, and there are
educational experts who work exclusively for the
university while it delivers and administers the program.
All the diplomas and final degree offered by the
university will have their information and logo only.

6. Different countries may have their accrediting bodies,
and the degree recognition will differ from a country to
another. In case you live outside of the country, you
should review the requirements of the degree to see if
you get a KNU program degree, it will be recognized in
your country.
7. Online diplomas and degrees are not licensure
programs, but they will not prepare the individual in
becoming a licensed professional in his field.
The full study fee with other required fee has to be
paid in the first 15 days, or the students will be
stopped, and he will not continue.
8. To register with KNU Open University, you will find the
form that you will have to fill so that you can apply.
You have to give your first name, the family name, and
date of birth. You will also fill in the nationality page,
the country of residence, your email and its
confirmation with a phone number.
9. Other information to fill in is your address, LinkedIn,
Twitter and Facebook. The form has a place where
you will be asked how you wish to be contacted if it is
with mail, newsletter, phone or email. You will also fill
in the study level you want if it is master, bachelor or
doctorate and when you want to start the program.

11. The form requires the students to fill his work
experience by filling in his company name. He should
also scan the copies of highest diploma he had, the
transcript of the highest diploma, passport, CV, copy of
the transaction when you had paid the fees and another
additional file you may want to add.
12. There is a comment box where you can fill anything
else you want to tell the admission office which you
did not fill in before.
The application fee is 90 EUR, and you will click at I
agree if you have read and agreed to the condition
and policy of the KNU Open University.
