A 22-year-old woman experienced coughing up blood during her menstrual period for 10 months. A medical scan found abnormalities in her left lung and a biopsy of her lung tissue revealed the presence of endometrial glands and stroma, which are tissues normally found in the uterus. She was diagnosed with endometriosis outside of the uterus that had spread to her lung.
