Inventor Profile
• Cinema has been the most popular entertainment source.People of all age groups, young
and old, women and children, flocked to the cinema halls in very-increasing numbers. The
Indian film industry was considered to be the largest and richest in the world, second only
to that of Hollywood.
• film industry is in distress over brand new films being made available on the piracy CD's
sometimes the very next day after their release.
• Extent of Video Piracy Video piracy, which has increasingly resulted in revenue losses for
the Indian film industry, became an alarming Rs 1,000's-crore market every year , rising
more than 20% year on year.As per a Northbridge Capital Asia report, the Indian film
industry, which is currently pegged at Rs 14,400 crore, produces around 1,050 films every
year but loses 14% of its revenue to video piracy.
• These days only 20-30 per cent audience goes to the theatres to watch films while the
remaining prefer to watch the films on Internet and on CD Player.
Background
• Piracy Secured Board invention functionality and technacality will be shared in later stages
of meeting.
Summary of the Invention
• Pentakota Vinod Kumar completed gradutaion in electronics engineering
and masters in business administration.
• Has 9+ years of experience in the field of IT, Telecom,
Finance/Insurance fields.
• Vinod is more passionate in research and development spends most of
the time in innovations.
• Vinod has completed patent projects. earlier he invented communication
system for physically challenged (Duff/Dumb).which is proved unique in
patent global search and invention published in Indian Patent website.
• Present he is working on Piracy Secured Board which is again unique
and patent project.
• PSB has a potential to bring the revolution in film industry across the
globe.
Inventor Profile
• Completed research and development of Piracy Secured Board by successfully testing a
proto type of it. Architecture was devised to leverage existing infrastructure and meet key
additional criteria identified by the Piracy Secured Board (PSB) Project Board. Proof of
concept participants were then recruited for each component of the architecture. Finally,
the system was tested at various dimensions.
• The Proof of Concept enabled a working system is developed. The system functioned
correctly with appropriate response times.
Current Stage of the Project
• According to statistics, found around 10000 theaters with around 12000 screens in India
• Around 1500 movies releasing every year. Because of piracy film industry loosing 1000
millions every year and creating unemployment to lakhs of people.
• Now PSB being the most effective and permanent solution every theater prefers to have
PSB Installed.
• Assuming 50% of the Theaters to install PSB in first year at a cost of Rs.2,00,000 per
screen. Will generate revenue of Rs.100 Crs
Expected break-even time
• No similar product is been launched yet in the market. There are some inventions which
are now applied for patents using techniques to detect the camera in theater .
• One related solution is been proposed in USA and in Japan and are yet to launch a
product based on their invention.
• They propose, sensors and auto detectors in the theaters. And watermark on the screen
• None of the competitors inventions are simpler, affordable and are easy to be used with
out technical assistance.
Competitive Analysis
• It is for the first time of this kind in the world, It is mainly invented for video piracy
protection.
• PSB is designed in such a way, which suits for all type of movie theatres.
• PSB does not require internet support for its function.
• It Consumes very less power.
Product Differentiators
• Expanding the market segment, by not only focusing on the PSB but also to upstream to
other models;
• Enhancing the value chain relationship. PSB is proposed to heavily rely on the value chain
to create a good side for releasing the overhead cost burden, but this may also bring the
downside for further new product launches;
• Implementing a more competitive strategy. In addition to a channel strategy, PSB should
find a way to effectively implement more strategies such as maintaining a rapid rate of new
model launches to fulfill mass public demand while not creating any downside and
cooperating with local telecommunication system operators to develop the 3G market.
Marketing, Sales & Customer Acquisition
Broad Financials: Revenues, Major expenses,
bottom line over the next 3 years
• Will be shared in next level of Meeting
• A Patent application is been filed in the name of inventor and that can be assigned to the
Business Associate, who is Taking up the project.
Collaboration and Conclusion
• Assuming 50% of the Theaters to install PSB in first year at a cost of
Rs.2,00,000 per screen. Will generate revenue of Rs.100 Crs .
• There are around 12000 screens in India.
• PSB has a potential market globally.
Market Need
Only in Indian Market
THANK YOU!
