Periodismo Social is a non-profit organization that promotes social journalism in Latin America. It works with journalists, social organizations, and universities to improve coverage of social issues. Some of its programs include monitoring over 20 newspapers for their coverage of topics like childhood poverty and healthcare, training over 2,500 journalists, and publishing a weekly newsletter and website with resources for journalists. Its goal is to optimize social dialogue and facilitate inclusion through better media coverage of pressing social topics.
