1. COMENIUS PROJECT: HEALTHY BODY, HEALTHY SOUL,
HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT
BARCELONA MEETING ( 11th-18th February 2009)
PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES (updated 5th Feb)

• Arrival in Barcelona of the Polish, Turkish and Hungarian
Wednesday 11th

• Arrival in Barcelona of schools from England, Lithuania and

Italy.
Poland, Hungary and Turkey:
• Morning (10-12h): visit to the school ( IES Bernat Metge)
• Afternoon: free visit to Barcelona ( Sagrada Família, Parc
Güell, Tibidabo, Montjuic, La Pedrera, the beach, etc.)
• Arrival in Barcelona of schools from Bulgaria and Romania
Friday 13th
(evening)
The rest of groups:
• Morning (9h departure from the school): visit to a recycling
plant in Montcada i Reixac ( 20 km from Barcelona)
• We’ll come back at about 13.30h
• Price coach: 4€

Afternoon (15.30-17.30):
sport or swing dancing (15.30-17.30):

Saturday 14th All groups/ all day:
• 9.30 am-5 pm: Healthy walk around Barcelona city centre:
Palau de la Música (commented visit : 10h, price: 6€),
Cathedral, St Caterina food market, St Maria del Mar church,
free time for luch (1.30h and then we’ll meet again in front
of St Maria del Mar church), St Felip Neri sq., St Jaume sq.,
Plaça Reial, Les Rambles, Liceu, Boqueria food market, etc.
• Departure from school : 9h (we will take the tube to the city
centre)
• 5-8 pm: free time for sightseeing or shopping.
Sunday 15th Free day to share activities with Free day to go sightseeing in
host families or other students and Barcelona (Sagrada Família,
their families or with your Parc Güell, Tibidabo,
teachers. Montjuic, La Pedrera, the
beach, etc.) or enjoy the
facilities of the Sports Centre
next to Urbany Hostel ( free
for those staying at the hostel)

Monday 16th 9-10h Welcome ceremony at school
• 10-11h Students’ presentations
• 11-11.30 Break
• 11.30-13.30 End of students’ presentations
• 13.30 h Lunch ( for teachers at IES Salvador Seguí canteen
aprox. 8€)
• 15h Visit to IES Salvador Seguí, a vocational school where
students get training to work in jobs related to health.
• 17-19h : cultural • 17-19h : Teachers
activities (possibilities: meeting on the Comenius
folk dancing, film and project
computer games about
health or the
environment).
• Dinner with host families • Evening ( 20h): Farewell
or families that will dinner at restaurant St.

Tuesday 17th Departure of group from England, Turkey and Poland
The rest of groups
• Morning: 3D film at IMAX Port Vell about environmental
questions ( title: SOS Planet ). ( ticket about 6 € )
• Departure from school: 10h
• Afternoon: reception by the local authorities.
Wednesday 18th Departure of the rest of groups.
