This document outlines a group project assignment for a creative thinking skills course. Introduction
“ Survival Kits come in many shapes and sizes, but their importance lies in the ability of the user as well
as the environment in which the user finds themselves.”
Objectives of Project
The objectives of this project:
To identify critical thinking and idea generation skills through the investigation and application
of a wide range of thinking skills and techniques.

On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to demonstrate the following:

Tasks - Methodology
GROUP TASK
As a group, you will be given a theme to create your Ultimate Survival Kit. You will discuss and
brainstorm on ideas to further investigate the theme that is given to the group. In the Survival Kit, you
should include the following:
(1)There should be 20 items to be included in the Survival Kit. (Each student will have to think of 2
items that is relevant to the Survival Kit.)
(2) Manual on how to use the Survival Kit (size is determined by the packaging and should be
included in the Survival Kit. Minimum size is A4 base, maximum is A3 base)
(3) Ad Video of your Survival Kit (What is the problem/ how to solve and how to use the Survival Kit
creatively)
(4) Survival Kit Packaging, Logo and Branding (How do you put everything together?).The items
should be package properly and creatively to reflect the theme that is given to the group. There should
be proper labeling, relevant choice of material and proper segmentation of each item. You could think
about creative names for each item to make the Survival Kit more interesting.
(5) Group Journal (Document the process in making/ creating the Survival Kit and the storyboard for
your Ad Video)
INDIVIDUAL TASK (INDIVIDUAL DOCUMENTATION)
Individually each student will document why they choose their 2 survival items to be included in the
Survival Kit.
Do ask questions like:
- Why do you choose the particular object?
-Why is it significant and important to be included in the Survival Kit?
Students are required to show their investigation, exploration and process of selecting the items.
In this task you are required to include sketches and doodles of your idea. Information should be clear
and easy to read. This documentation should be in loose A4 paper which will be included in the Group
Journal.
Submission Requirement
This is a group project participate by all group members. Marks shall be deducted to those who don’t
participate in their group.
GROUP SUBMISSION
Every group must complete and submit the final Survival Kit together with proper packaging, manual,
Ad Video and the group Journal on the day of presentation (Week 8-venue and time TBC)
INDIVIDUAL SUBMISSION
The Individual Documentation (refer to Individual task) is to be included in the Group Journal. You are
advice to scan your work before you submit to your tutor for uploading purposes in your online
portfolio.
