The manuscript, produced in Constantinople in 512-515 AD, contains beautifully illustrated copies of Dioscorides' work commissioned by Anicia Juliana. It arrived in Vienna in the 16th century and is considered part of the UNESCO Memory of the World. The manuscript provides valuable information about ancient herbal medicine and Byzantine art.
H.A.L.O. is holding a design competition for their 2009 campaign, looking for creative computer graphics designs that are uplifting and appropriate but not a new logo or symbol. At first, at the time of his martyrdom, the martyr began to glisten with remarkable miracles, restoring sight to the blind, walking to the lame, hearing to the deaf, speech to the mute, and cleansing lepers, restoring paralytics, curing dropsy and all varieties of fatal, incurable disease, even resuscitating the dead. And miraculously exercising power over the demons and all the elements, he extended the touch of this power to unusual and unheard of signs. For instance, people deprived of their eyes and genitalia obtained new members by his merits.
Museums and Wikipedia can benefit each other by collaborating and sharing resources. Wikimedia Commons is a repository for open media that museums can contribute images to in order to generate interest and reach broader audiences. An open photo policy allows museums to promote their collections more widely online and attract more visitors. When people share photos on social media, it spreads awareness of museum exhibits to new potential visitors.
