A. Name of Person Nominated: Professor Francis Kofi Ampenyin Allotey
B. Type of Honorary Degree To Be Considered: Doctor of Sciences
C. Justification for Awarding the Degree: During his professional career, Professor
Francis Allotey has risen to a position of eminence in Mathematical Physics and has
received national and international recognitions in his field. He has also made
exceptional intellectual scholarly contributions through his research; and is the
first person to introduce the theory of electron-hole scattering resonances effect
on soft X-ray spectroscopy in metals. This theory is widely known as the Allotey
Formalism – the technique used to determine matter in outer space.
