TRANSFORMATION
IS IN
OUR DNA
3
The Principles for Responsible Management
Education (PRME) is the largest organized
relationship between the United Nations and
management-related higher education
institutions founded in 2007.
As a platform to raise the profile of
sustainability in schools around the world,
PRME equips today's business students with the
understanding and ability to deliver change
tomorrow.
THE SIX PRINCIPLES OF PRME
PURPOSE
We will develop the
capabilities of students to be
future generators of
sustainable value for
business and society at large
and to work for an inclusive
and sustainable global
economy.
VALUES
We will incorporate into our
activities, curricula, and
organisational practices the
values of global social
responsibility as portrayed in
international initiatives such
as the United Nations Global
Compact.
METHOD
We will create educational
frameworks, materials,
processes and environments
that enable effective learning
experiences for responsible
leadership.
5
THE SIX PRINCIPLES OF PRME
RESEARCH
We will engage in conceptual
and empirical research that
advances our understanding
about the role, dynamics,
and impact of corporations in
the creation of sustainable
social, environmental and
economic value.
PARTNERSHIP
We will interact with
managers of business
corporations to extend our
knowledge of their
challenges in meeting social
and environmental
responsibilities and to
explore jointly effective
approaches to meeting these
challenges.
DIALOGUE
We will facilitate and support
dialogue and debate among
educators, students,
business, government,
consumers, media, civil
society organisations and
other interested groups and
stakeholders on critical issues
related to global social
responsibility and
sustainability.

Blueprint for SDG
Integration in
Business Schools*
The Blueprint is a tool developed by the PRME
Champions group for the PRME Community to
"provide concepts and frameworks to support
business schools – both PRME Signatories and non-
signatories – as they integrate the SDGs into their
curricula, research and partnerships [...] [as well as]
to provide a practical focus by offering examples of
approaches already adopted by business schools."

PRME Global Students (PGS)
PRME Global Students (PGS) is a student-run initiative that aims to co-create a space for
fruitful and creative collaboration, collective reflection, and joyful interactions between
and beyond student organizations in the realm of sustainable development. PGS aims to
empower and create value for student organizations worldwide by leveraging their
interests while facilitating connections to each other and further players in a fast-paced
changing society.
Therefore, while developing PRME Global Students as an initiative by and for students, it is
pivotal for a collaborative development process to gather and listen to the individual
voices behind student associations and co-design a platform that meaningfully serves their
needs and aspirations. Let’s find ways to accelerate our ever-growing collective impact and
support each other in writing history today and making our dreams come true tomorrow.

Editor's Notes

  • #4 The Principles for Responsible Management Education were developed in 2007 by an international task force of sixty deans, university presidents and official representatives of leading business schools and academic institutions. The development of a principle-based global engagement platform for academic institutions follows from a recommendation by academic stakeholders of the UN Global Compact. The idea was officially introduced by the UN Global Compact at the Global Forum "Business as an Agent of World Benefit" at Case Western Reserve University in October 2006.
