The crew of the fishing vessel Naham 3 were released after over 4 years in captivity by Somali pirates. The Chairman of the Contact Group on Piracy off the Coast of Somalia welcomed the release and thanked all those involved in securing it, including Hostage Support Partners for Oceans Beyond Piracy. While acts of piracy have been reduced, piracy was not fully over until all hostages were freed. The coordinator of Hostage Support Partners commented that the 26 remaining crew were in reasonable but malnourished condition, and thanked those whose efforts led to the release.
