This document analyzes factors influencing international migration patterns. It uses United Nations data on migrant stock, immigration, emigration, and population by country to analyze trends. A community detection analysis partitions countries into regions based on migration networks, matching common understandings. A regression model finds population size and proximity influence migration, but other factors contribute significantly to migration decisions. More localized data could provide more accurate insights into migration patterns between specific locations.

 The results are in accordance with
our common sense.

 coefficient of w1,w2 are 0.0856
and 0.0450 respectively.
 For the value of R2, it is only
0.027. Low R-squared values are
problematic when you need precise
predictions.

influencing people’s immigration
choise, so the environment noise is
considerably high.

 Around 86 people in every million of a
country tend to migrate to a certain
destination.
 The country with large population
attract more immigrants.
 The world is partitioned into different

international migration.
Disadvantages and Further Topics:
 Immigration population for each
country is collected without knowing
specific cities. Thus, if we can get the
population number and location
information for each places for all
countries, the outcomes will be more
accurate and meaningful.
