In September, MLB released its full 2014 schedule to the public. ESPN and ESPN 2
resumed coverage of MLB during the 2014 spring training camp. Five of the 14
games on opening day have been scheduled for broadcast on ESPN or ESPN 2,
including the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox against the
Baltimore Orioles . The networks will show a combined nine games in April and
three in July, while ESPN will exclusively broadcast eight games over the course
of May. ESPN will launch its 25th season of Sunday Night baseball on the evening
before opening day. The 2014 season also has been noted as the first MLB
campaign to launch in Australia. Previous seasons have begun in Mexico, Japan,
and Puerto Rico.
