As an 18-year-old, you can work without special rules
or your parents' permission. You can rent an apartment
and buy property (although you can't rent a car). You
can get a driver's license that has no restrictions.
According to the California Bar, "You can now sign legal
contracts, open bank accounts and apply for credit
cards on your own." This also means that you, not your
parents, are responsible for paying your bills and
meeting your obligations.

There is honestly nothing special about being 21
because technically you were a adult 4 years ago and
you were allowed to do a lot of things 4 years ago and
now your just allowed to drink legally.
The thrill and excitement was 4 years ago at age 18. The
18 year old adults loved drinking and breaking the law
because it was not legal for them to drink.. Imagine
that!!

8. This country is just too ironic. I love the fact that red, white,
and blue represent freedom until they are flashing behind
you because you are a adult and you are not allowed to
drink because the law does not allow it until you are the age
of 21..

9. A 18 year old is allowed to go and fight for there county and
even die to save it because they are adults now.. What is
legal and not legal in this country is a joke.

10. At the end of all this.. It is just alcohol and I don’t understand why the
law hasn’t changed and lowered the age to 18. If you can smoke, have sex
legally, and fight and die for a country. Why can’t you legally be allowed
to have a drink..
