Cesar Vallejo was a Peruvian poet and writer born in 1892 in Santiago de Chuco, Peru. He studied in his hometown and nearby Huamanchuco before working various jobs, including as an administrator, tutor, and cashier, as he was unable to complete his formal education due to financial limitations. Vallejo published his first two poetry books, Heraldos Negros and Trilce, in Lima and taught high school before dying of an unknown disease at the age of 46.
