Pre-Condition Before Alignment
1. Arrange Steel Plugs for Axis Mark & Level Mark as per designs shown below in Picture 01 & 02.-
Not Done.
2. All vertical and horizontal stands bench mark to be fixed and certified by customer on steel plug.
Pass line and stand axis’s on below “Picture 01” type steel plug. Level/Elevation on below “Picture
02” type steel plug.- Not Done.

3. Networking of bench mark to be done as per below picture in mill area.(Layout drawing to be
followed for the distance between stands).- Not Done
4. Machined plate’s deviation to be checked. Follow procedure as shown in pictures 1, 2 & 3. If no
deviations observed then proceed with the erection-alignment of plate.- Not Done.
5. As shown in the drawing sample below, top of the horizontal supporting plate has an indication of
+4590 mm above a symbol that stands for “Elevation for machinery resting”, means the plate to
be levelled at this level.

Note: - Holes displacement on the base plate is also important but minor displacement is acceptable. It is to be noted
that there is lot of available space between the anchor bolts and the holes: bolt size is M48 while holes on the base plate
are 100 mm and holes on the shimming plates is 80 mm as seen here below.
6. Manufacturing error allowed are specified in the embedded steel plate manufacturing drawing as
seen here below: Danieli standard 2.4.103 corresponding to a maximum error of +/- 2 mm in total
for all holes displacement while for the plate is +/- 0.5 mm in respect of the 260 mm distance
from the closest anchor bolt hole.
Note: - The purpose of bottom horizontal plate is, to be used as a stopper & jacking device for the base plate as seen here below.

Bigger tolerances on displacement of this plate can be accepted keeping tight the holes alignment referred to the described
installation targets. If this plate would be lower or higher a possible solution would be to replace the bolt used as jacking
screw/stopper or to reweld it in the right place.
7. After alignment of embedded plate through certified Pass line & certified Stand Axis, lock it
properly from front mounted temporary support. Locking should be strong enough to withstand
casting pressure. Prepare Alignment Protocols for Pre- Casting Survey readings.
8. Now lock this embedded plate properly from both sides as well to avoid any lateral movement
during concrete casting. (Refer Picture 07).
9. After Concrete casting is done, curing is done. Final Post-casting survey is to be done to check if
there is no deflection from Pass Line & Stand Axis.
