Prayer Service – Drug Addiction By: Paulina De Fulviis
We start with the sign of our faith In the name of the Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit… Amen
Opening Prayer For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Our struggle is with evil powers. Drugs are a demonic doorway to the supernatural world. When you use it, you enter a dark world of destruction, depression, anxiety, and confusion. The dark spirit of addiction tortures people and keeps them in cages. He has destroyed, corrupted, and killed a multitude of young, beautiful people.. These people were created in the image of God. They all had a destiny, a calling to fulfil something good in their lifetime. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. Only Jesus can really save you out of its power. Lord Jesus, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Please hear me today and help me! I want to receive you as my Lord and Saviour.
Scriptural Passage A reading from the letter of Paul to the Corinthians “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” The Word of the Lord. . . Thanks be to God 1 Corinthians 6: 12- 13
General Intercessions We pray for the addicts and the weak to have strength. They need to be able to step away from the drugs and go to Jesus. Jesus will guide you to the right path to enable you to live your life to the fullest. We pray to the Lord. . . Lord, hear our prayer We pray for the addicts’ friends and familiesto have strength and courage. Drugs tend to destroy relationships, therefore we encourage the friends and families to stay strong and work together. Working together is the key to overcoming this addiction. We pray to the Lord. . . Lord, hear our prayer We pray for the employers, bosses and co-workers of the drug addicts. We pray that they have patience to deal with the addicts. Encourage support seminars to take place at work, instead of firing the addict. If these people are fired, it will leave them in a bigger and deeper hole than before. We pray to the Lord. . . Lord, hear our prayer
