Capital University and Its Football Program Is Back
We are a comprehensive, independent university grounded in the Lutheran tradition. The
education we offer is experiential, intimate, and urban. From the arts and sciences to professional
programs, our teachers excel at both challenging students and creating a personalized learning
environment. We believe the intellect is best developed when it’s exposed to education inside
and far from the classroom. That’s how we engage the community in the pursuit of lifelong
learning. In short, Capital University prepares students to contribute to the world — through both
their professional lives and personal service.
Capital University is one of the best colleges to attend in all of Ohio for many reasons. It could
be because of the location, potential career opportunities, academics, places to go during your
free time, and so many other potential things. As stated in the brief description about Capital,
there are many things that we do well here. One of those things is sports.
Our football team has an enormous home game coming up this weekend against the University
of Mount Union Purple Raiders. The game will be this Saturday at 12:30pm at Bernlohr
Stadium. The Purple Raiders are coming in with a 3-0 record and have a lot of momentum on
their team but the Crusaders playing at home is a very noisy, intense, and wild atmosphere to
play in.
Even after coming off of the Crusaders’ first loss, there are still many positives within the team.
Sophomore B-back Brent Walton is having a great season so far carrying the ball providing a
solid rushing attack for the Crusaders. Defensively, senior linebacker TJ Langermeier is putting
on another stellar season leading the linebacking corps in every statistic possible. Special teams
wise. Sophomore punter Keegan Irwin and senior kicker/punter Joseph Riley are having good
seasons so far helping the Crusaders out however they can.
So come on out and support your Capital University Crusaders as they attempt to take out the
University of Mount Union Purple Raiders.
