Study the given situations below. Identify them
whether they show work or not. Write Yes/No on
your choices and then state your reason why is it/ is
it not an example of work. You are guided by the
following criteria:
Points Description
5 Correct choice + correct explanation
4 Correct choice + partly correct explanation
3 Correct choice + wrong explanation
2 Correct choice + no explanation
1 Wrong choice + wrong explanation
1. Kim Marga is carrying
“bunubon” or rice plant on her
right arm while walking in the
“taltalon” or ricefield. If the
“bunubon” is 5 kg and Kim is very
tired in carrying it, does she do
work on the “bunubon” ?
2. Your carabao is very tired in
pulling the “arado” or plow
and it’s more than 2 hours
that it’s exposed on the farm,
does the carabao do work on

pulling a rope with a
constant speed of 20
m/s, is there a work
done by Gim on the
rope?
4. Nato Lala is busy

Let the students capture one best photo in

present their output any of the following:
photogrid; powerpoint presentation;
Microsoft office word etc.,
“If Plan A did not
work. The alphabet
has 26 more letters.
Stay Cool!”
Formula:
W = F x d
Where:
W – work
F – force applied
d - distance
Force is measured in
newtons (N).
Distance is measured in
meters (m).
Work is measured in
newton-meters (N.m) or
Joule (J) – in honor of James Prescott Joule for
his accomplishment in the study of work and energy.
50 N

10 m
WORK = ?
GIVEN:
F = 50 N
d = 10 m
W = ?
FORMULA:
W = F x d
SOLUTION:
W = 50 N x 10 m
W = 500 J
Pepito exerted 150 N in pushing
a table through a distance of
2.5 m. How much work was done?
