INTERNET of THINGS
is the network of physical objects
that contain embedded technology to
communicate and
sense or interact with their internal states or the
external environment.
ENABLING TECHNOLOGIES
RFID SENSOR
SMART
TECH
NANO
TECH
To identify and track
the data of things
To collect and
process the data
to detect the
changesin the
physical status
of things
To enhancethe
powerof the
network by
devolving
processing
capabilities to
differentpart of
the network
To make the
smaller and
smaller
things have
the ability to
connectand
interact.
IoT Apps
New apps required to
integrate sensor
based data into business
applications
Machine2 Machine
Sensors and
devices talking to each other
and data centers via
wireless communications.
From Hype to REALITY
In 2014 IoT has become
real with the ubiquity of
connectivity and proliferation
of devices, and wearable
computing.
Clouds Required
Aggregating all this big data
and acting on its findings will
best be achieved by
capturing, analyzing and
responding from the cloud.
Wireless sensors
and devices.
They are getting smaller and
cheaper….and there are
billions of them….producing
billions of data points.
BIG DATA to get Bigger!
These ‘things’ (sensors , chips,
computers) will produce even
more data than we have now,
taxing our already complex
Information Management
systems.
ProductDesign
Consumers and Customers will
increasingly expect products
to come with embedded
sensors.
Security and Privacy
These two issues are big
components of any IoT
strategy and must be
considered for the devices,
the connections, and the
cloud.
TRENDS
WHAT IS THE FUTURE
?
Internet of Things (IoT) is emerging as the third
wave in the development of internet
Personal lives, workplace productivity and consumption
will all change. Plus there will be a string of new
businesses, from those that will expand the internet
“pipes” , to those that will analyze the ream of data, to
those who will make new things not thought of yet.
INTEREST AREAS
 Cloud computing
 Data Security
 Big data
 RFID Sensors
DESIRED TASK IN THIS AREA
Given a chance I would like to work on:
 Network security in the cloud.
 RFID sensors and how to incorporate them in
embedded systems.
 Using Analytics to analyze huge amount of
data flowing in network
properly channeling them.
INNOVATIVE IDEAS
 Using nanotechnology in an efficient way to
accommodate smart chips in already
available devices.
 Integration of software and hardware under
single roof.
 Securing the data without hampering
response rate is my concern.
THANK YOU
