This document provides instructions to crochet a potted sunflower arrangement including a pot, dirt, sunflower, petals, leaf, and bumble bee. The pot is made first in orange yarn using increasing rounds to form the shape. Dirt is made separately in brown yarn with increasing rounds. The sunflower is made in brown, green, and white yarns with decreasing rounds to form the center and petals. Additional components include leaves, a bumble bee made in yellow and black yarns, and wings. Full materials and stitch lists are provided along with notes and pictures of the finished project.

Gauge: with 3.25 mm hook, 5 sc sts & 5 rows = 1 inch

-Tension is not critical for this project. You
can use any yarn to make this amigurumi.
For example, if you use a larger hook and
a suitable yarn, the amigurumi will be
bigger while maintaining the same

Do not cut yarn. Stuff pot with fiberfill. Make

Insert 6 mm safety eyes between rnds 2 and

Finish off and leave a long yarn tail. Stuff
stem lightly with fiberfill and insert floral
wire into stem, I used 16 gauge wire. Leave
about 1 1/2 inches of wire poking out
of the stem. Insert the stem into the center
of the dirt and with yarn needle and yarn
tail, sew rnd 27 of the stem to the dirt.
Leaf:
with 3.25 mm hook and worsted weight
green yarn, ch 10
Rnd 1: sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next
st, hdc in next st, dc in next 4 sts, hdc in next
st, 3 sc in last st, working on the other side of
the foundation ch, hdc in next st, dc in next
4 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next st, sl st in next
st, sl st in skipped chain at beginning of row
(20 total sts)
Finish off and weave in ends. Make a total of
two leaves and attach them to either side
of the steam. See picture 4.
Rnd 2: sc in each st around (2 total sts)
Rnd 3: 2 sc in each st around (10 total sts)
Rnd 4-7: sc in each st around (10 total sts)
Rnd 8: *sc2tog, rpt from * until end of rnd
(5 total sts)
Finish off and leave a long yarn tail. Make a
total of 20 petals. With a yarn needle and yarn
tail, sew round 8 of the petal together then
sew 10 of the petals to the front loops from
round 7 of the sunflower. Sew the remaining
10 petals to the front loops from round 8 or
the sunflower. See pictures 2 & 3. Bend the
stem so that with weight of the petals does
not tip the pot over. See picture 2.

Bumble Bee:
with 2.75 mm hook, and DK weight yellow
yarn, ch 2
Rnd 1: 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook (5 total sts)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (10 total sts)
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rpt from
* until end of rnd (15 total sts)
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, rpt
from * until end of rnd (20 total sts)
Rnd 5: sc in each st around (20 total sts)
Rnd 6: change to black yarn, sc in each st
around (20 total sts)
Rnd 7: change to yellow yarn, sc in each st
around (20 total sts)
Rnd 8: sc in each st around (20 total sts)
Rnd 9: change to black yarn, sc in each st

Rnd 10: change to yellow yarn, sc in each st

Insert 5 mm safety eyes between rounds
3 and 4 with 5 stitches in between. Begin to
stuff with fiber fill.
Antenna:
with 2.75 mm hook and DK weight black
yarn, ch 6
Rnd 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in next
4 sts (5 total sts)
Finish off. Make a total of 2. With the yarn
ends tie antennas to the top of the bee
between rounds 5 and 6 with 2 stitches in
between. See pictures 4 and 5.
Wing:
with 2.75 mm hook, and DK weight white
yarn, ch 2
Rnd 1: 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook (5 total sts)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (10 total sts)
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rpt from
* until end of rnd (15 total sts)
Sl st in next st, finish off and invisible join.
Make a total of 2 wings and sew them to
the top of the bee. See picture 4.
Rnd 11: *sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts, rpt from *
until end of rnd (15 total sts)
Rnd 12: *sc2tog, sc in next st, rpt from *
until end of rnd (10 total sts)
Rnd 13: sc in each st around (10 total sts)
