When parents are separated, grandparents often take on more responsibility for educating children. This can be difficult if the grandparents do not follow the same guidelines as the parents. Parents must give teachers more authority over school matters and be more involved in their children's education at home by establishing schedules, routines, and limits. Conflicts between parents and children often arise due to poor school performance, household chores, discipline, schedules, breaking rules, and excessive passive leisure activities. Children need structure and order while also feeling happy.
