The project is located in a small
village in Ghana where primary in-
frastructues are missing.
The intervention consider a small
unity for a 5 people family with
the possibility of aggregation
with other unities.Due to the high
temperatures, the house pre-
sents small openings, ventilated
roof and water recycling.AUTO-
CONSTRUCTION AND SUSTAINABIL-
ITY are garanteed by the use of
local materials. as and local con-
struction techniques are adobe
bricks, BAMBOO, WOOD.

The project aims to re-estabilish
water connection between Baltic
and Black sea by Vistula, Bug,
Pripyat, Dnieper river and Dnie-
per-Bug canal requalification in-
creasing cultural, economic, social
and touristic exchanges between
Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Bal-
tic and Black Sea regions.
KIEV AS A HUB
Being Kiev the midpoint of the
waterway connection and the fi-
nal destination of the Paneuro-
pean Corridor 5 (Lisbon-Kiev) how
will the city change during the
next decades?Which role would
the river have in this new sce-
nario?
WHY ON WATER?
Thanks to the economical devel-
opment triggered by the Corridor
5, the river could become a fur-
ther dimension where this devel-
opment can be spread.
Kiev will be completely involved
in it, becoming a big harbour, an
archipelago of islands.
THE ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT
“Floating architectural network”
made by platforms carrying on
programs for the city, moving
along the waterway, combining
with other off-shore/on-shore
activites, generating unexpected
new realities.
The floating caravan can stand in
a place or move somewhere else,
being always different, dissolving
boudaries, going drifting.

7. ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
Today a big part of rivers are
left in a bad state and they ate
often used as a discharge for
wastes coming from industries
and cities.
Nevertheless, most of the cities
are crossed by rivers and water-
trasport still has a strong po-
tential in terms of sustainability,
expecially thinking that a train
can carry the equivalent of about
40 trucks, whil
e a riverboat can take over the
load of 85 ones. Moreover, it
need 1000 Kg of fuel to move
50 tons of goods by road for
a stretch of 1000 km, and the
quantity decrease to 515 Kg for a
train and to 394 for a ship. That
means that a ship requires the
40% of the fuel.

8. URBAN PLANNING
QUARTO CAGNINO - MILAN
URBAN DESIGN LAB - BACHELOR
The project starts from a specific
on-site analysis in Quarto Cag-
nino, old agricultural and small
scale neighborhood in the west
side of Milan
Around ‘60s, a huge 350 meter
modernist building following Cor-
busier “Unité d’habitation” princi-
ples was built.
Nowadays the outscale complex
represents a strong useless bar-
rier for the area.
The project starts from so-
cial and direct on site analysis
following principles of density
distribution, accessibility, hu-
man scale, visibility, facilities
variety, open street frontage,
public space, mixing use and
participation.
