POMODORO TIPS (mini sprints)
Break down complex projects. If a task
requires more than four Pomodoro's, it needs
to be divided into smaller, actionable steps.
Sticking to this rule will help ensure you make
clear progress on your projects.
Once set, it must ring. The Pomodoro is an
indivisible unit of time and can not be broken,
especially not to check incoming emails, team
chats, or text messages. Any ideas, tasks, or
requests that come up should be noted to
return to later. A digital task manager like
Todoist is a great place for these, but pen and
paper will do, too.
Small tasks go together. Any tasks that will
take less than one Pomodoro should be
combined with other simple tasks. For
example, "write rent check," "set vet
appointment," and "read Pomodoro article"
could go together in one session.

  • #10 Other than sleep and work (Print pie chart
  • #12 "Declining health rates in IT" refers to a trend where the overall health and wellbeing of individuals working in the Information Technology (IT) sector is deteriorating, often attributed to factors like long working hours, sedentary lifestyles, stress, poor sleep habits, and neglecting physical activity due to demanding work schedules, leading to increased rates of chronic health issues like obesity, cardiovascular disease, and mental health problems. [1, 2, 3] Key aspects of declining health rates in IT: [1, 2, 3] Excessive screen time: Spending long hours staring at computer screens can strain eyes, contribute to neck pain, and disrupt sleep patterns. Sedentary lifestyle: The nature of IT jobs often involves sitting for extended periods, leading to reduced physical activity and increased risk of obesity and related health issues. Stress and burnout: High pressure deadlines, complex projects, and constant technological updates can lead to significant work-related stress, contributing to burnout and mental health concerns. [1, 2, 3] Potential consequences of declining health rates in IT: Reduced productivity: Poor health can negatively impact concentration, focus, and overall work performance. Increased absenteeism: Employees experiencing health problems may be more likely to take sick days or miss work due to medical appointments. High employee turnover: Poor work-life balance and concerns about health can lead to higher rates of employees leaving the company.

  • #14 Pomodoro is Italian for tomato.  So you will see this technique illustrated via a tomato often The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method in which you do focused work during 25-minute intervals — known as pomodoros — and take a five-minute break. We love this method because it: Improves focus Minimizes distractions Prevents burnout Promotes accountability Boosts motivation Which is why perfectionists and procrastinators will find it useful. It’s easier to commit to 25 minutes of work at a time than a whole afternoon of non-stop work.

  • #18 Stacey Identify time sucks in your schedule; understand how you can optizimize and prioritize
  • #19 Set Reminders for All Your Tasks One of the most effective ways to manage your time is by setting reminders for all your tasks. This can be easily done using your smartphone or a calendar app. Start by making a to-do list of all the tasks you must complete in a day, week or month. Then, set reminders for each task so you are notified when it’s time to work on them. This will help you prioritize your tasks and stay on track. Create a Daily Planner Creating a daily planner is another valuable tip for managing your time. It helps you plan your day and allocate time for each task. Start by listing all your tasks for the day and assigning them a specific time slot. Make sure to prioritize your most important tasks and tackle them first. A daily planner helps you be more productive, stay organized and avoid wasting time. Give Each Task a Time Limit Another practical time management tip is to give each task a time limit. Set a realistic time frame for completing each task and stick to it. This will help you avoid getting side-tracked and wasting time on unimportant tasks. It will also give you a sense of accomplishment when you complete a task within the allotted time. Block Out Distractions Distractions can be a major time-waster. To help manage your time more effectively, minimizing distractions is essential. Start by identifying your biggest distractions and finding ways to eliminate them. This could be turning off your phone notifications, closing unnecessary tabs on your computer or finding a quiet workspace. By blocking out distractions, you can focus on your tasks and complete them more efficiently. Establish Routine Finally, establishing a routine is a great way to manage your time effectively. Create a schedule that works for you and stick to it. This includes setting specific times for work, breaks and leisure activities. A routine helps you stay organized, reduces stress and improves productivity.
