Stars Brighten Planet Friday
Many entertainers support socially responsible causes
Live Nation’s artist contracts often address sustainable concerns
such as providing organic foods, biodegradable consumables,
and using energy efficient light bulbs in their dressing rooms
Planet Friday programming can tie in to, promote and support
artists’ causes, providing additional incentives for entertainers
and their audiences to embrace LCEC
The “Show of Peace” concert planned for April 2010 in Bejing,
China, demonstrates how a high-octane entertainment can shine
a light on environmental sustainability

FRIDAY
Planet Friday Programming
Designed to attract a daytime audience.
EcoBuck program (details in following slides).
Start the weekend early – entertainment begins at 11:00 a.m.
Activities at the Artisan Market (open at 7:30 a.m.) include celebrity
chef presentations using foods in season; demonstrations by skilled
local artisans; global and local art shows; book signings; and product
samplings.
Incentives for business people to bring a group (e.g. leave business
card, get a prize; bring 6 people from the office, get a free appetizer).
EcoBuck Program
The EcoBuck is a unique program to promote Planet Friday and draw
patrons to experience the excitement at the LCEC.
At a minimum the value will be a lunch (five dollars) or the value
could be 50 to 1,000 dollars of cash, redeemable only at the LCEC.
This element of surprise will make EcoBucks the hot bartering item in
the DFW Metroplex.
Through varied distribution channels, EcoBucks will be given to
companies in bulk to allow individual employees the opportunity to
discover all of the excitement at the Entertainment Center.
Employees will start their weekend early while enjoying the thrill of
winning!

DART Rail Line station will connect Las Colinas to downtown Dallas, DFW International
Airport and Dallas’ Love Field
The Las Colinas “People Mover “(APT) will be automated and expand service hours to bring
patrons from Las Colinas urban core to our front door
Special parking and valet privileges for hybrid and electrical vehicles
Provide ample bicycle parking and offer bicycle valet service
Visitors can stroll along the Street and Plaza to nightclubs and restaurants serving food and
drink from many cultures
The Standard We Are Setting
In keeping with Ben Carpenter’s philosophy, “we are merely the custodians of this property
during its important stage of development.” Before the first shovel broke earth, we dedicated the
venue to be eco-friendly from the ground up.
Design and Construction
Receive LEED “certified” status – exceptional accomplishment in hospitality and
entertainment industry.
Large scale energy and water conservation design—including waterless urinals.
Outfit an estimated _____ square feet of photo-voltaic (PV) awnings and solar panels
producing ____ electricity per day.
A combination of wind and solar energy will supply laptop stations “off the grid.”
Landscaping to include Texas indigenous trees, edible vegetation, and insulating green walls
–all solar powered landscape lighting. Collectively offsetting the venue’s carbon footprint by
________.
Unique dance floors and strategic walking areas will be used to create and harness
electricity.
Watering landscape with rooftop collected rainwater.
Refillable water stations throughout Street and Plaza.
Setting the Supply Chain Standard
Taking Mr. Carpenter’s statement one step further, “Let them look back and reflect on the fine
effort made by those who were its custodians during the development stage” into the operation
stage; we carefully consider our supply chain resources and the full circle of those resources.
The Restaurants
Our chef’s garden will showcase the offsite organic herbs and produce that will supply our
restaurants.
Organic farms and gardens will supply our restaurants
Take-home containers made from compostable/biodegradable materials.
Staff uniforms will be made from recyclable materials.
Fair-trade teas and coffees will be the staple.

  • 16. Planet Friday Programming Designed to attract a daytime audience. EcoBuck program (details in following slides). Start the weekend early – entertainment begins at 11:00 a.m. Activities at the Artisan Market (open at 7:30 a.m.) include celebrity chef presentations using foods in season; demonstrations by skilled local artisans; global and local art shows; book signings; and product samplings. Incentives for business people to bring a group (e.g. leave business card, get a prize; bring 6 people from the office, get a free appetizer).
  • 17. EcoBuck Program The EcoBuck is a unique program to promote Planet Friday and draw patrons to experience the excitement at the LCEC. At a minimum the value will be a lunch (five dollars) or the value could be 50 to 1,000 dollars of cash, redeemable only at the LCEC. This element of surprise will make EcoBucks the hot bartering item in the DFW Metroplex. Through varied distribution channels, EcoBucks will be given to companies in bulk to allow individual employees the opportunity to discover all of the excitement at the Entertainment Center. Employees will start their weekend early while enjoying the thrill of winning!

The Standard We Are Setting In keeping with Ben Carpenter’s philosophy, “we are merely the custodians of this property during its important stage of development.” Before the first shovel broke earth, we dedicated the venue to be eco-friendly from the ground up. Design and Construction Receive LEED “certified” status – exceptional accomplishment in hospitality and entertainment industry. Large scale energy and water conservation design—including waterless urinals. Outfit an estimated _____ square feet of photo-voltaic (PV) awnings and solar panels producing ____ electricity per day. A combination of wind and solar energy will supply laptop stations “off the grid.” Landscaping to include Texas indigenous trees, edible vegetation, and insulating green walls –all solar powered landscape lighting. Collectively offsetting the venue’s carbon footprint by ________. Unique dance floors and strategic walking areas will be used to create and harness electricity. Watering landscape with rooftop collected rainwater. Refillable water stations throughout Street and Plaza.

Setting the Supply Chain Standard Taking Mr. Carpenter’s statement one step further, “Let them look back and reflect on the fine effort made by those who were its custodians during the development stage” into the operation stage; we carefully consider our supply chain resources and the full circle of those resources. The Restaurants Our chef’s garden will showcase the offsite organic herbs and produce that will supply our restaurants. Organic farms and gardens will supply our restaurants Take-home containers made from compostable/biodegradable materials. Staff uniforms will be made from recyclable materials. Fair-trade teas and coffees will be the staple. Implement creative strategies for reducing and reusing food waste
