The IBPR consortium aims to implement an isobutanol platform in Rotterdam by 2020 that converts biomass to fuels and chemicals via isobutanol. Phase 1 involves a feasibility study to assess the technology, logistics, economics, and sustainability to determine whether to proceed. Phase 2 would experimentally verify the process. The feasibility study will assess licensing, add-on technologies, logistic scenarios, economics, and a project plan for Phase 2.
