What type of photography are you going to produce?
A Documental approach. Recording how Nunnington Hall is run on a daily basis. The
photographs to go with an article on how National Parks preserve historical monuments.
What contexts could this type of photography be used in?
Magazines such as National Geographic, Local Newspapers such as the Darlington &Stockton
times or Northern Echo. Also the photographs may be seen as a collection in Exhibitions that are
shown in Nunnington Hall. As well as that, the photographs may be seen on local TV stations to
go along with a report about National Parks in North Yorkshire and how they are under threat of
closure.
Who are your influences for this project?
Steve McCurry- American Photojournalist- Documentary Photographer. Well known for image of
‘Afghan Girl’ on the cover of National Geographic.
What will you subjects be for this project?
People visiting, the people working Nunnington Hall. Images of others taking photographs.
Images of Nunnington Hall as a whole.
What techniques will you use?
Close up Photographs on the buildings, camera settings to be that of Low ISO, A White balance
of Daylight, Aperture to be an F Number of F/8 to get a larger depth of field when taking places
of wide interest. However a lower number will be used to get a close up certain parts such as
people taking photographs, to blur the rest of the image out and focus on one part. Little post
production needed as the images are documenting a place of interest.
