• Damagetoplayingsurfacesincluding
bunkersandgreenkeepererror
Underwriters will indemnify the Insured in respect of damage
to greens for £20,000 any one green and £200,000 in total
for fairways, bunkers, tees, trees and plants including
accidental damage to greens caused by the greenkeeper.
EXAMPLECLAIM1:The greenkeeper uses the wrong chemicals on
the greens and kills the grass. The policy will pay to repair
the greens and also cover any business interruption as
a result of the damage.
EXAMPLECLAIM2:A bad storm floods the bunkers and the sand is
washed away. The policy will pay for repair to the bunkers.

Under the Public and Products Liability section of the policy
Underwriters will indemnify any director or partner or Employ-
ee or member or guest or green fee player of the Insured
whilst acting in such capacity regardless of whether the
third party claimant is also a member of the Insured.
EXAMPLECLAIM:A member hits a golf ball which hits another
member in the face. The policy will respond and represent
all insured parties concerned.
• Compulsorycoursealteration
Underwriters will indemnify the Insured in respect of costs
associated with compulsory course alterations that the
Insured are forced to make due to a legal order subject
to a maximum of £50,000 any one loss and an aggregate
limit of £250,000 any one Period of insurance.
EXAMPLECLAIM:A Local authority wants to extend a highway. The
policy will cover the cost of any course alterations needed.
• Maintenanceequipmentintheopen
Underwriters will indemnify the Insured in respect
of damage to maintenance equipment exceeding
25 horsepower (hp) and attachments kept in the
open outside normal course operating hours.
EXAMPLECLAIM:A tractor left in the open overnight is stolen.
The policy will provide cover for the theft subject to
the policy conditions being followed.
• Liabilitycoverforunlicensedvehicles
Underwriters will provide liability cover for the use of unli-
censed mechanically propelled plant or golf buggies whilst
such plant or golf buggies are on the Insured’s premises
including the necessary crossing or travelling along public
roads to reach adjoining parts of the course or operating
from any perimeter boundary road adjacent to the Insured’s
premises for the purpose of carrying out maintenance work.
EXAMPLECLAIM:A buggy crossing a public road to get to the
next hole has a collision with a car. The policy will cover
the liabilities in connection with the incident.
• Hole-in-onecover
Underwriters will indemnify the Insured up to the amount
stated in the schedule in respect of expenses incurred result-
ing from a club member holing a tee shot whilst playing in a
tournament or any competition organised by a golf club within
the territorial limits during the period of insurance. The amount
shown is the maximum amount payable under this extension
in respect of any one club member in any one period of
insurance. Any claim made under this extension must be
substantiated by the Secretary of the club at which the event
takes place. The Deductible does not apply to this section.
EXAMPLECLAIM:A club member hits a hole in one in a tournament
or any competition organised by the golf club. The policy
will pay up to £500 to cover bar bill costs.
• Cancellationorabandonment–£5,000any
onelossand£10,000anyoneperiodofinsurance
Underwriters will reimburse the insured for money otherwise
irrecoverable following cancellation curtailment or abandon-
ment of a Captain’s Day Competition, Club Championships
or similar golf day events from any cause (Conditions apply).
EXAMPLECLAIM: Due to bad weather the Captains day is
cancelled. Any connected costs will be paid by the policy
such as pre-booked catering.
• Memberssportsequipment–£1,500anyone
memberand£50,000anyoneloss
Underwriters will indemnify the Insured in respect of damage
or loss to members’ sports equipment and/or personal effects
at the premises for an amount not exceeding £1,500 any one
member and £50,000 any one loss.
EXAMPLECLAIM:Ten sets of members clubs are stolen from the
locker room during a burglary and forcible entry is evident.
The policy will cover the replacement of the clubs and any
personal effects in the golf bags.
