•Barron was thewinner of the New York
Society of Illustrators' Gold Medal in 1976 for
his portrait of Lotte Lenya, and was later
named the Society of Illustrator's Instructor of
the Year in 2001. He currently teaches at the
California College of the Arts in San
Francisco, San Jose State University, and Pixar
Studios.
•Barron has created illustrations for
magazines such as Boys' Life, Reader's Digest,
National Geographic, leather-bound classics
for the Franklin Library, books like War and
Peace, The Good Earth, and the collected
