Persuasive Writing Language
-Repeatedwords: using the same words again and again helps make your point stronger. This shows that
the idea is really important.
- Alliterationcan make your words stick in people's minds, like a song you can't forget. It's a cool way to
make your writing stand out!
- Emotive language: Emotive language are words that are deliberately designed to make a reader have
strong feelings. These can be positive or negative.
Rhetorical questions: Rhetorical questions are questions we ask to make a point, not to get an answer. It's
like having a conversation where you already know the answer!
Humour: Humour is a fantastic language tool for persuasive writing. The writer will try to make funny points
and jokes. It will make the reader more likely to be on the side of the writer. It makes your writing more
memorable for the reader.
Personal pronouns: Pronouns such as, ’I,’ ’we,’ or ’you’ can be used to talk directly to the reader. Using the
pronoun ‘you’ allows you to directly address the reader and the writer can appeal directly to every individual
reading the text. This encourages the reader to relate to the subject as it is written directly for and to them.
