A personal write-up (or a personal statement) refers to a particular type of information needed on an application form. This is required on the application form for teacher training positions and on many undergraduate and postgraduate (university) application forms. The write-up may also be requested for certain type of positions with non-profit organizations, or for internship applications. It is a writing sample describing you at your best, your reasons for choosing the job you have chosen, your professional interests, your objectives, and the unique ways you can contribute to the organization to which you are applying. Employers often ask for your write-up because they want more insight into who you are and why they should hire you. The job application is standard and asks for objective facts and details that allow them to evaluate candidates against job requirements. A personal write-up, though, gives applicants a chance to express themselves through essays and highlight anything in their background that is helpful for the employer to know but not obvious on applications.

PERSONAL STATEMENT
An attentive, diligent, and innovative graduate in acquiring knowledge as the core work
values in my life. Flourished a four years degree experience with a first-class honours from the
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor.
With an in-depth knowledge of the principles of construction engineering technology,
construction techniques along with the project-based practical knowledge of construction
planning and development process, I have proven aptitude in construction management
theoretical studies. Expert in the use of project management software such as Primavera,
Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel along with a robust understanding in project planning
and scheduling techniques. Through six months of internship programme at the TRC Synergy
Berhad for the construction of MRT Line 2 Depot Maintenance Serdang, I have gained valuable
experiences and pioneered an Excel-based software for managing the concrete cube test records
which facilitates the process of manual documentation.
Seeks a challenging and varied position that will enable me to capitalise on my
professional experience, with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
