Parentheses The thing you do first in a problem (if there are any). Example: (5*3)+21=36
Exponents  The little number over the big number to show how many times you multiply the big number. Example: 2 2 +6=10
Multiplication The little x that shows instead of adding the numbers your multiplying them. Example: 2x8+9=25
Division Division is instead of multiplying the numbers you divide them. Example: 21/3+14=21
Addition When you put the two numbers together with an addition sign (+). Example: 243,759+72=243,831
Subtraction Instead of mixing the numbers with addition we separate them with subtraction (-).
