• What process can you use to
align your Pedagogy with your
Learning Spaces?


• A process for a re-design of a
learning space to a school’s pedagogy.

• It’s not about one person’s view.
• All stakeholders need involvement.
• What is the current school vision
and what it will be like in the near
future?
• Read widely and listen extensively.
• Visit other learning spaces and talk
to the stakeholders.

•
Ask lots of questions and then ask
more.
• Build a network of people to assist
you.
• Be aware that despite great
planning, you will have to make
quick decisions.
• Work out a variety of ways to
involve all stakeholders.

• Break apart some key school
documents.
• How can your “new” learning
space better meet some of these
directions?
• Survey Stakeholders.
• Develop Planning Principles as to
what us important to the project.


• Processes to align Pedagogy with
Learning Spaces.
• An audit of the aims of this project against school documentation such
as the school’s Values and Beliefs, Strategic Plan 2012-2015,
Annual Implementation Plan 2012 [AIP], and ICT/eLearning
Plan 2011 has indicated the usefulness of this project will in meeting
the current Key Improvement Strategies in the current AIP of
the school. It will greatly assist listed actions in that plan such as

• Offering students a wide range of eLearning activities in all domains through
the introduction of online activities for all P- 6 students this will include ﬁnding
resources on school intranet, Moodle, Ultranet and recording and responding
to what they have learnt using information products, blogs, wikis.
• Introduction of collaborative online projects including SuperClubsPlus,
Global2Blogs, Moodle and the Ultranet as relevant.
• This project also supports the school in its accreditation process as an
eSmart school, which sets positive policies, modeling and behaviors around
Digital Citizenship.

• Analyse your survey results:
• What trends are there?
• Are these trends similar or different
to your pre-conceptions?
• What did you learn from the survey?
• Explore some of the survey ﬁndings
through teacher and student focus
groups.


Part Three

• What’s the role of ICT in this?


• The role of I.C.T. in all of this.
• Multiliteracies
• 21st Century is technology rich, so
should these learning spaces.
Students should therefore have
access to a variety of technologies
available to them.
• Learning Management Systems
• The use of an LMS [such as Moodle,
Ultranet] is critical for
24/ 7 learning, Blended Learning,
Personalised learning etc.

The “new” learning space


• Plan The Move In!
• Celebrate the new space!
• Offer teacher professional development
in the new space.
• Model how the space will work to
teachers and students.
• Teaching & Learning in the new space
may take some adjustment.
• Be prepared to make some minor
changes to the space if necessary.
• Evaluate the space in 6 -12 months
time.
