This document discusses theories of culture and their application to theology, ministry, and faith formation. It makes three main points: 1) Christianity and culture are inseparable, 2) Humans live within diverse cultures, and 3) Congregations are cultural contexts. It emphasizes understanding specific cultural contexts by "descending into detail" through examining narratives, stories, and practices within congregations. Three practices of engaging with stories are proposed: dwelling in God's story, listening to others' stories, and sharing one's own story. The goal is cultivating a culturally-informed approach to faithful ministry.
