Coolwall Energy Savings
On a hot day, the sun can beat down on the walls of
your home, and your home can absorb as much as
90% of the radiant energy (or heat)! Even white walls
can absorb significant solar radiation. All that heat
makes the inside of your home hot and
uncomfortable. Running air conditioning to cool your
home can be extremely expensive.
In fact, a central air conditioning system uses about
3500 watts, or 3.5kWh every hour. In some areas of
the country, cooling even a moderate size house
requires over 1500 hours of air conditioning
operation a year. Now, COOLWALL® - an advanced
exterior coating system - tested by the Department
of Energy to lower surface temperatures* - can make
your home more comfortable while reducing your
use of air conditioning.

TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® Coating
Systems regularly undergo
accelerated weathering tests
comparable to those used on
today's advanced automotive
paints. As a result, TEX•COTE®
COOLWALL® Coating Systems are
proven to be highly resistant to
fading.
FGD
Accelerated weathering with
5000 hours of testing is
equivalent to approximately 10-
12 years of southern exposure
(much longer in northern
climates).
Every 1,000 hours is equivalent to 2-3 years of exposure.

Q: How does the COOLWALL® System compare to those coatings claiming to be "ceramic"?
The so called "ceramic" coatings actually are ordinary coatings that have had small ceramic spheres added. The premise
sounds good, except that the science does not support the claims that are made. Even though these coatings may be applied
heavier than ordinary paint, there simply is not enough thickness to effect insulation of any measure. These ceramic coatings
have been debunked by the Department of Energy and the Federal Trade Commission and they do not increase reflectivity.
Q: What is the life of the COOLWALL® SYSTEM?
"The COOLWALL® System is designed to last a lifetime. Testing in our state-of-the-art xenon weathering chamber showed the
COOLWALL® System was still performing beautifully after the equivalent of more than 10 years exposure, with no end in
sight!"
Q: How does COOLWALL® reflect heat without changing color?
The ability of COOLWALL® to keep wall surfaces cooler is based on its ability to reflect a much greater percentage of the non-
visible portion of the spectrum leaving the color relatively unaffected. COOLWALL® has tremendous performance to reflect
these elements. The ability of COOLWALL® to keep wall surfaces cooler is based on its ability to reflect a much greater
percentage of the non-visible portion of the spectrum relatively unaffected.
Q: What is the recoat procedure?
1. Recoating should begin with a clean, sound surface.
2. If recoating with the same color, COOLWALL® finish may be applied without a primer.
3. If recoating in a different color, you may require both COOLWALL® primer and finish.

Paint S u r e , if you don’t mind placing a costly band-aid on you’re b i g g e s t a s s e t . .
because that’s e x a c t l y what paint does, until the next time damage occurs.
Choosing Paint as “the” option of choice may appear to be the cheapest of all the options (in the
moment) be assured, it’s not. Paint is a GUARANTEE RE-OCCURING COST, period. You can select
a quality contractor whom uses quality material, but that’s about all the control you have - you can’t
control the weather or the ingredients today’s paint is made out of.
• Let’s do the basic math on this one… the average cost of a paint job is 4,000.-9,000. IF you went
with the better contractor you may have extended your next paint project out for a couple more
years- even then dishing hard earned money out for yet ANOTHER temporary band-aid….is, well.. a
VERY expensive band aid.
• Paint SUFFOCATES stucco and wood. In it’s effort to adapt to it’s environment, paint expands in the
heat and contracts in the cold and over time paint will start to peel and crack. When this process
begins it ACCELRATES EXISTING DAMAGE (the one that this was a band-aid for) forcing you to re-
stucco.

2 Re-Float Stucco
• Color Coat (Re-Float) is made of sand, concrete, glue and water. Sand
absorbs water, concrete is constantly curing.
• Cracking and Peeling happens as more water is absorbed. Look at your soil
line next to your sprinklers.
• Because a new color coat is applied over the existing stucco a cold joint is
created and will separate at this joint as moisture is introduced and large
areas will fall off all over the house
• Average Warranty is 3 Years
• Average Cost for a Re-Float is $6,000-$12,000

3 Re-Stucco
• Different than re-floating, a re-stucco involves completely ripping off all 3
layers of the stucco.
• This process is very messy and your walls are ripped open down to the
studs and left exposed to the outside elements.
• The benefit is that you can put a new vapor barrier on your house to
protect against moisture problems for another 15-20 years.
• Average warranty is 5 years.
• Average cost for a re-stucco is $20,000-$30,000

Siding
Vinyl Siding can be a viable option.
You are locked into the color once applied.
• Cheaper vinyl siding can fade and usually has no insulation behind it.
• Applied improperly it can trap moisture in walls and cause rotting in between
walls.
• Average warranty is limited lifetime.
• Average cost for vinyl siding is $18,000-$35,000
