Oval Innovation Solves
Many Common Problems
Here’s the First Problem Solved
3
4
Problem #1
5
Solution #1
Oval Brand fire extinguishers enable
a fully recessed, flush door, fire-
rated cabinet to fit into a standard
3-5/8” metal stud partition.
Oval Brand extinguishers are
UL and ULC listed.
6
Solution #1
• Oval Brand extinguishers enable a fully
recessed, flush door, non-fire rated cabinet
to fit into a 2-1/2” metal stud partition and
6” masonry.
• Keeping walls at their standard depth saves a
minimum of three square feet of usable
space per Oval Brand fire extinguisher.
• U.S. Patent Nos. 9,364,696, D760,443,
D760,444 for extinguishers. U.S. Patent No.
D777,566 for bracket.
• Cabinets now available from JL Industries in
a fully array of options.

8
Problem #2
• All currently manufactured round 5lb & 10lb ABC fire extinguishers
violate the 4” protruding object limit when surface mounted with the
bottom edge higher than 27” above the floor
• This regulation is part of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA),
ANSI/ICC A117.1, and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
(AODA)
• The IFC® INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE® also states “Section 1003.3.3
Horizontal projections. Structural elements, fixtures or furnishings shall
not project horizontally from either side more than 4 inches (102 mm)
over any walking surface between the heights of 27 inches (686 mm)
and 80 inches (2032 mm) above the walking surface”
• The new international accessibility standard ISO 21542 limits objects
higher than 11.8” to protruding no greater than 4”. This presents a large
international opportunity
Protruding Object Violation – Greater than 4”
9
Solution #2
Only Oval Brand extinguishers never protrude more than 4”
when surface mounted!
We Also Hope to Reduce Broken Toes
(and Lawsuits & Settlements)

Problem #3
Fire Extinguishers Fall on People!
Our Competitors’ Hooks
12
Solution #3
The Solution – The Patented Oval Button Hook
13
Solution #3
The Solution – The Oval Button Hook
(U.S. Patent No. D777,566)
Unlike our competitors’ standard hooks,
Oval extinguishers don’t easily dislodge
and fall when bumped into.

Our Brand Has Another Innovative
Solution for the Fire Sprinkler Industry
15
16
Problem #4
• Almost all currently manufactured
standpipe hose connections (aka
standpipe outlet valves) protrude greater
than 4” as installed.
• The protruding object limit is part of the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA),
ANSI/ICC A117.1, the Accessibility for
Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA),
ISO 21542, and the International Fire
Code (IFC).
• Per NFPA guidelines the valve handle and
snoot must be located between 36” and
60” above the floor.
Protruding Object Violation – Greater than 4”
17
Problem #4
• The valve in the photo is protruding
over 14” from the column into the
path of emergency egress.
• This valve was hit by a forklift and the
handle is broken. Sometimes valves or
pipe couplings break, and water
damage follows.
• This type of damage is a common
occurrence in warehouses,
manufacturing facilities, and big-box
retail.
Forklift Damage
18
Solution #4
The Solution – The Oval Standpipe Outlet Valve
• Protrudes less than 4 Inches!
• Large retrofit opportunity.
• Once it enters the market, a “Readily Achievable”
solution now exists. All non-compliant valves will be
required to be retrofitted.
• The Oval Brand valve has potential to render all other
standpipe hose outlet valves obsolete.
• Meets National Recognized Testing Laboratory,
(NRTL) published design requirements.
• Not NRTL listed…yet. Will be submitted to NRTL for
testing and listing this year.
• U.S. Patent No. 9,555,272
