Outline of sequence
1. Outline of sequence.
Scene 1
A man stood tall in an orange mist, heat waves bouncing of his face
began to slowly walk towards what seemed a very small village far in
the distance. The man was wearing woollies wrapped around his
washed out jeans and large spurs that were attached the back of his
perfectly waxed boots. Adding a vest, a bandana rapped round his
neck and a large rope in his hand it was clear this man was a cowboy.
Looking up from beneath the rim of his hat, the cowboy ran a comb
through his wild mustache then slid it into his back pocket that was
hanging on by a few stiches around the edges. The cowboy reached
up to his mouth with his two fingers and whistled at a decibel so loud
it could have smashed glass. After a couple of seconds a small ragged
grey and black dog ran up behind him and sat next to the cowboy.
The cowboy put his hand above the dog’s head as it raised and
passed a small package to him from its mouth. The cowboy unraveled
the item to reveal a small piston that he shoved into its concealer that
hung on his hip.
Scene2
As the cowboy reached the village he strolled along a sandy street
passing the corner drug store and waving at the man stood behind
the counter. He carried on to walk past the hotel and watch the other
local cowboys stumbling out with their arms wrapped round the
woman who had entertained them. The cowboy continued to wave
and bow to those he sore as he followed the road to the end where
the saloon stood. He pointed to the floor and the dog sat down next to
the barrel of water. The cowboy patted it on the top of its head and
continued to walk up the five wooden steps that were creaking so
vigorously you would expect them to cave in on every step. He
pushed is way through the saloon downs and walked over the bar
leaving the doors swinging back and forth for a little while. He sat
down on a tall stool in the corner of the bar and stuck his hand out.
Seconds later a glass of whiskey was shooting down the top of the
bar. He shot the drink down the back of his neck and stood up
quickly. He turned to leave the bar and walked back down the
wooden steps.
Scene3
The cowboy stood at the bottom of the stairs to find a large crowd
gathered down each side of the street, leaving a long empty street
straight ahead. He stayed still waiting as he watched the distance. A
sudden noise of galloping horses over took the rustle of the viewer’s
2. whispers. A large dust cloud appeared at the end of the road as 3
horses came to a halt. They slowly trotted towards the cowboys for
another couple of seconds then stopped again. There was a clear
division between the other men as two stayed behind as the largest
horse edged that little bit closer. The man at the front jumped of his
horse and slammed straight to the floor. Before the cowboy stood the
village Sheriff. Small and stumpy but full of power that everyone
feared. He removed his hat and placed it in a holding bag on the side
of the horse. He took a small piece of material from his pocket and
rubbed his badge.
Scene4
Both men took 3 large strides towards each other and placed their
hand upon their hips ready to draw their guns. Just as both men
where ready to compete in a showdown and small thin woman came
running out from the drapers shop on the right. The woman was
dressed finely in a large blue silk dress and hair perfectly pinned up
to the side of her head. She attempted to push her way through the
crowd but no one seemed to notice she was even there. She cried out
to the crowd and they parted. The woman grabbed her dress at the
front to stop her from tripping over it. She ran straight over to the
cowboy and grabbed his vest and started to push and pull at him. It
was clear that she had a connection to the cowboy and didn’t want
him to continue in the showdown. He took no notice and pushed her
to the side where the crowd covered her.
Scene5
The men both pulled the guns from the holders and swung them
viscously round their middle finger before lifting up their arms and
pointing them at each other. Both men pulled back the trigger to
release a bullet at the exact same time. As the cowboy pulled his
trigger he bent to the ground moving from the firing line. A loud
groan came from the other side of the street as the cowboy pushed
himself back up and faced the woman, she give an enthusiastic smile
and winked at him. He slowly walked towards the man’s lifeless body
smiling and bowing his head to the bystanders. The cowboy reached
the man and kneeled down beside him. He reached over to remove
his badge when the sheriff grabbed his vest and pulled him towards
him. The mans eyes were racing round their sockets until they closed
for good and lightly released the cowboy from his grip. He stood up
and threw the badge high and quickly raised his gun and shot it
3. whilst still mid air. Every one in the crowd cheered and ran towards
him picking the cowboy up and placing him on their shoulders. He
shot his gun once more.
