Jaime Giménez Arbe was a Spanish anarchist and bank robber known as "El Solitario". He admitted to over thirty armed bank robberies across Spain and was convicted of murdering two Civil Guards in Castellón. He was arrested in 2007 in Figueira de Foz, Portugal as part of an operation to catch him robbing a bank. During his 2008 trial, Giménez Arbe pleaded not guilty to murder charges and defined his bank robberies as "bank expropriation", stating he had begun his criminal career with Corsican anti-capitalist groups. He was sentenced to 47 years in prison.
