Five day luxury wine tour Alsace
If you really want to get to know the Alsace: the villages, the food, the wine region and its wines, you
should join us on our five day tour. We now have the time to really look around without rushing.
We will visit wineries with very different philosophies in Bas Rhin and Haut Rhin. You will lunch and
dine in great (Michelin starred) restaurants, some with a German touch, some with an Alsatian
touch and some with very refined French cuisine. We will visit the wine museum. Transport is by
minibus.
Day 1) You will arrive at your hotel between 15.00 and 18.00 hours. After your check in we
will pour you a welcome drink around 18.30. Now you will have a chance to get to know the
other people in your group. We will continue with a welcoming dinner.
Day 2) After your first night and breakfast your mini busses will be waiting. We will visit 4
wineries today. Of course you can taste (and buy) what you want. Lunch is in the middle of
the wineries. At the end of the day we come back to the hotel. After freshening up we will
have dinner here.
Day 3) In the morning you are free. We will add some information and suggestions for visits.
We will give you tips for a sunny but also for a rainy day. This day is with your own
transportation. We will meet at 13.00 at a lovely restaurant. We will enjoy another tasting of
several wines and of course some nice food to go with that. After this session (15.00 a 15.30)
you are again free for the rest of the day. At night it is up to you where you will have your
dinner.
Day 4) On this fourth day we will start in the wine museum. We will continue our trip to the old
village of Riquewihr. Here we will taste some famous Crémants and enjoy our lunch. We will
then visit one of the most famous wineries in the region. After this we will take you to the hotel.
You can refresh and change clothes if you want. Because at night we will have our great last
dinner together at a wonderful location. You can enjoy great wines and of course we will
discuss them and all other things we have seen and learned.
Day 5) After your fourth night you will enjoy your last breakfast. You will check out before or
around 11.00.
Groups are from 4 to a maximum of 20 people guaranteeing you personal attention.

Alsace Wine Tastings near or in the city of Gérardmer
For a wine tasting JoliSoleil offers several possibilities. We can organize a wine tasting in or near
Gérardmer or we can take you on a trip to the wine region. This flyer is about our wine tastings in or
near Gérardmer (88400).
What to expect on a JoliSoleil wine tasting?
We always start by discussing wine tasting in general. How to do that? We will give you some hints
and teach you some do’s and don’ts. We will then continue with some information on the Alsace
region.
As the tasting starts you will be handed out a special tasting note paper. So you can write down your
findings and discuss them.
- The first wine we drink is a Crémant – a champagne-like wine, which originates from the
Alsace.
- Then we continue with some white wines, for example: 2 different Rieslings, a Pinot Gris
and a Pinot Blanc. We will discuss our findings.
- Next is a red wine. We will taste some Pinot Noirs, for example 2 from the Alsace and 1
Pinot Noir from the Burgundy region. So we will taste the same grapes and the only
difference is in the winemaking, the region and the soil. This is of course very interesting
to compare.
All and all we will taste some 6 to 8 wines. This will take some 1 ½ - 2 hours. We always serve some
French bread to go with that. Of course we can always discuss different wines, or for example add
some wines avec ‘prestige’, like from the house of Hugel, Trimbach or Zind Humbrecht.
Dining
Food and wine belong together. The right choice of wine can really add to the tastes and flavors of
what you are eating and vice versa. And although we do not encourage you to really swallow all the
wines, you will still feel better if you also eat something during and especially after the wine-tasting.
We can also bring you some local ‘Alsatian’ food, like: Coq au Riesling, Choucroute garnie, Tarte
flambé, Kugelkopf or Baeckofe.
