Open School BC has been developing and designing courses since 1919 when we were called the Correspondence Branch with the BC Department of Education. We were responsible for creating the content, getting it to the students, receiving it, grading it and tracking the student’s progress. With the development of the DE Schools we assumed the responsibility of managing the correspondence courses and resources. In 1995 we began offering our courses online and now offer over 30 online courses. In 2002 we began developing public sector online courses starting with the Local Assistance to the Fire Commissioner now including various industry resources from FOIPPA to FoodSafe.
