6. Helping take care of the thirty children The local Market: Burkina Faso ranks
There are five adult staff, Ratio 6:1 207th in Financial Poverty (2008 CIA Fact Book, PPP)
Third Poorest Country in Africa which has recently been devastated by flooding
8. Volunteering in a rented two room orphanage that has a
moderate sized outdoor covered porch (pictured above) and
very small barren dirt walled courtyard with thirty children.
All five orphanage staff are local native volunteers.

1. Provide financial, material, and volunteer assistance to the
orphanage on both short-term and long-term care improvement targets
2. Provide assistance to the family that provided me with food and
shelter during my two month stay –their home has subsequently been
destroyed by flooding since I left Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso -Africa

open sore infections, portable child toilets, wash cloths, drink
cups, and rugs to keep the sleeping children off the concrete floor

Many needs are just very Basic – and this orphanage is at over capacity.
