About Us

Veda, the quiz society of MSI and MSIT is one of the most active societies
of our college. With many junior members and a dedicated core team, we
have quizzers who are collectively dominant in almost every genre of
college level quizzing. At Veda, raising the bar higher is the norm, and
success is routine. In 2017, we became the first society to win back-to-
back gold medals at Anugoonj, the inter-college fest of GGSIPU, along
with 25 odd wins in quizzing events hosted by other colleges, which
augmented this major achievement. When you join Veda, you will be
joining a team that embraces the grind, enjoys the hustle and celebrates
teamwork. These are not just hollow words; everything we strive for,
everything we value, everything that defines us, is the result of a legacy
that was envisioned by the founders of this society, and neither they, nor
us, have ever looked back.

countries. There are many theories which discuss the origin of this association. The most widely
accepted one is that a group of high school kids in California used the number as a code for engaging
in the particular activity because they met at that time. Other theories include Hitler’s birthday and
Bob Dylan’s song ‘Rainy Day Woman no. 12 and no. 35’
However in India, X has a completely different meaning. This is because of the Section X of the IPC
which covers offences relating to cheating and dishonesty. As X trickled down into our lingo it became
synonymous with someone who is a con or a trickster.
Interestingly all the clocks in the movie Pulp Fiction are set time to X.

portions of Punjab and Bengal. The line was published on 17th August 1947
upon the partition of India to demarcate the Union of India and Domain of
Pakistan. Today its Western side serves as a border to India-Pakistan while
