Oracle PL/SQL Substr and Instr: I have a view (not table) with column names USERNAME,
DEPARTMENT, FINANCE (FN), RESOURCES(HR), BUDGET(BD), from a table called Groups. I
need to make the Department into a GROUP and SUBGROUP by using substr and instr to
separate the different parts of the departments. I need to see the view return Username, Group,
Subgroup, FN, HR, and BD. For example, If a department is called MC-DOLL-FN then I need it to
be returned as MC-DOLL in the group, and FN in the subgroup. Please help.
