The ONDC is an initiative by the Government of India to create an open decentralized digital commerce network similar to UPI. It will allow buyers to search for products across different seller apps and give sellers the ability to list offerings. ONDC functions as a network where buyers and sellers can communicate through a standardized language, rather than a single website or app. Participants join the ONDC network by registering and subscribing through API calls.

2. Introduction to
ONDC
 The ONDC is an initiative introduced by the

commerce by creating a decentralized
network of buyer apps and seller apps
 It functions similarly to the Unified Payment
Interface (UPI) , a popular payment system
that allows people to make mobile payments
regardless of the specific payment app they
use
 ONDC brings together these different
providers, giving you more choices, and
competitive prices while fostering healthy
competition

work?
 ONDC is not a website or an app but it's
a network
 An open network built on top of Beckn
protocol that makes it possible for any
buyer/seller/logistics partner, etc. to
communicate with each other in a
standardized language
 So, any buyer can use a buyer app to
search for any products/services and
sellers can list their offerings and serve
orders

4. Onboarding in
ONDC
 To enroll in the ONDC network, Network
Participants (NP) must be added to the
registry. For that NP needs to whitelist
the subdomain (subscriber ID).
 Initiate the subscription process by
calling the /subscribe API.

5. What is Beckn Protocol?
 Beckn Protocol enables the creation of open, peer-to-peer decentralized networks for
pan-sector economic transactions.
 The protocol can be implemented by platforms, organizations and governments to
create integrated digital networks across diverse sectors of e-commerce, mobility,
energy, manufacturing and more.
 It consists of Beckn Application Platforms (BAPs), Beckn Provider Platforms (BPPs),
and Beckn Gateways (BGs), in-between them. BAPs acquire consumers, and place
orders, BPPs acquire orders and fulfill them, and BGs optimize discovery of BPPs (by
the BAPs) on the network.
