They saw Facebook as a chore that was consuming their limited free time. After removing Facebook from their life, the author felt freed from an obligation and like they had one less chore to do. Only one of the author's one hundred Facebook friends reached out when they were absent from the platform. The author now has more time to spend with family and doing activities they enjoy without feeling guilty about not engaging on Facebook.
