Interview with Vivian So
September 4, 2011

I was born in Hong Kong Now a Canadian Citizen residing in BC Canada. I am a part
time cashier. I graduated from an Accounting Diploma in a college. Was once license to
sell Mutual Fund. Completed General Insurance Essential Program that made me once
qualify to become a level one general insurance agent or level one general insurance
adjuster. I felt weary about being a sale person. So I didn't continue my pursue.
Everybody think I am a great conversationalist but I always think sale is dirty or I don't
want to make everyone I meet as a target. I might just be a cashier, but everyone think i
have so much insight to offer. Even my English tutor think I will be a great teacher some
day teaching about my philosophical of life. I do want to help people. But I think the
traditional way of learning just isn't for me. I am in my 3rd year in General Studies in
psychology and music with 3 work term done. One more work term remain and i done
all my elective, just waiting core courses to be done with. But I pause. I am also 3rd
year in my Bachelor of Business Administration, but never took a course in my 3rd year.
That's me.

But there is another me. The me that was elected by teacher in grade five to be a bus
monitor. Bus Monitor is someone who take charge of order on a school bus In grade 7
first semester, before i moved to Canada, I was elected to be prefect of my own class.
Prefect is someone who take care of the order of certain class, and i was one. I wasn't
accepted into Girl Scout in grade 7, but I continue to show leadership skills. I was in
leadership class from grade 9 to 11. Grade 11 I was once a leadership team leader,
even i wasn't very successful one. I was in Student Action, Student Advisory Counsel,
Tutoring Assistant to my Tutoring Teacher, Note Takers in class, Help out in Read
Program of grader, help disable children to exercise, visited Senior home, Campus
Director for half a year, Kidney Foundation Fundraiser, Terry Fox Run, a summer
festival crew coordinator, cash register and administrator, Interview an instructor for a
Q&A publication on college newspaper. Publishing isn't new thing. I wrote an article and
a poem to advocate for organ donor when i was in grade 10. One of my poem was
asked by a pastor to reprint in her church. My poems was published by some publisher
that hosted poetry contest. I was even published in a science journal because I was part
of a research as the experimenter in its pilot studies and the actual study, who was also
responsible for participants recruitment and point of contact. I was even part of the early
stage of data tabulation. I was under limited supervision. From the beginning to the end.
I was show the result desire, but I was the one who create questionnaire, session
participant instruction booklet, systematic observation guide that lead to good quality of
data for tabulation. That's project management itself. In my business study, I used to
work alone but I also work well in group. I was often play multiple roles, as usually as a
coordinator, and a supporter. I monitor each stage of the school projects, and made
sure each team member is doing what it is required, and provide recognition and
support. At one point I was in a marketing contest where i was so ambitious that I
entered twice in the contest. It was a positive experience. I was also sent to Canadian
Federation of Student in an annual conference. One of my MA Counseling prerequisite
was a communication course where part of my grade is to be a role play counselor with
my study buddy. Not only I score high in my class, I was able to help my buddy a real
time. That's not a too bad feedback from a follow peer. That's another me.

Yet another me is. I was very good with math. I skipped math eight and challenged
math 10, so when I was in grade 10, I was already in grade 12 in my math. Although I
drop out on Calculus I can't say I was a failure when i look back, but it did feel like one
when I drop out of Calculus. I never needed help in math. But it dawn on me, I need
help from a well respect friend who was in the same grade as I do, whom was also in
Calculus with me. Getting tutoring from him, require me lots of courage. That's said, I
won 3rd places in senior category in a science fair when I am just a junior. My project
was called Pascal Triangle. I entered the next year but I called sick when its due. I was
ruined by false expectation from the year before where I won. That's lots of pressure. I
was also very studious in my computer study from grade 8 to 11. I done all I ever could
day in Pascal programming but I was still not allow to jump on grade 11 computer
science in grade 10. The teacher finally stop assigning pascal assignment to me and
said, "Look, I am going to give you a A but no more assignment" I was even in computer
science contest when i was in grade 11. I donated many after class and inclass hours
to help peers with their computer skils. Unfortunately I started to get sick when i was in
grade 11. I was good in science too. In grade 8, I studied Grammar Ray closely in
library of my secondary school, reading encyclopedia that is aged, and then it comes to
my presentation day. My teacher looked at me and told me, "Look, I don't think your
classmate will be able to understand this, but can you tell me what you understand
about grammar ray." And there I present my thoughts on the subject, and my teacher
was in awe. I got A on my project at the time i was in grade 8. In grade 10, I have
already done physic 11. But when I was in grade 11, I find I failed physic twice. Might be
cause I was starting to get sick in grade 11. No idea. But wasn't a great feeling. And so
that's another me.

I also involved in many different club and interesting classes, metal work, drafting,
woodworking, choir, art, cooking, food safe, gymnastic, dancing, I was all over the map.
In fact, I did so well in dancing i won three award in grade 11 that is attribute to my hard
work and dedication in dancing. And I sing so well that I was part of a church worship
team that later produced a Audio CD for sale to general public at the church. I was even
in debate team and was invited as a judge of a debate contest in a secondary school.
That yet another me.

Another me, I started learning HTML and website design since i was in 1997. And
hosted a chat group in yahoo group that hit over 200 members before i delete it. I had a
Christian group at care2.com for over 200 people with many good resources between
2004 and 2005 before i hand it over to my friend. Group facilitation online isn't
something new to me. I even had my own forum and now a moderator at IMwithJamie
Forum, and a guest moderator to some of my friends forum. But back then it is much
more simple. I wanted to use poetry to heal others. And I loved chatting online, and I
loved to read html source code so i can learn the pattern of the code and so to adopt it
in my own fashion, so joining web ring, signing guestbook (now we would call blog
comment), and making forum posts at my favorite online hoping places is just a familiar
and fun thing to do. And at that point I did create lots of those profiles online. When my
first website got my first 1000 visitor. I was like Wow. And so I started a mailing list. I
think that must have been about 200 people on it before i deleted the list. I was also
doing some pay per click thing that i never got money from. Like one of many people i
move through various stages of negativity online. From being desperate, to information
overall, to passive learning, to now active learning, asking question, and taking my own
ownership of my fate. Fast forwards to today, if it was not for Jamie Lewis, I think I am
still someone that is lost. He gave me hope. Under his high expectation of his student, I
finally published my first ebook on Clickbank. I have only sold one copy. But it made a
huge difference. I know I am getting there, just a matter of time. Jamie not only cares for
his students, but provided many chances for students to move forwards with their
learning by creating contests and including us in his projects to do some small tasks
that he personally pay out of his pocket. Hack this guy even pay for my fee to publish
my first book at Clickbank. He is 100% genuine. I like him because he is down to earth,
and he is interested into helping others, just like i am.

Now then what's it for me. What do I want to do for the rest of my life. I love Internet
Marketing, and I know a quite a bit about social media and website making such as
WordPress, Joomla, and what not tradition HTML. Hack, I had over 500 on my twitter
one of my first account in twitter then I deleted, again, for no apparent logic. My current
one has close to 700 follower so far. And my facebook, I have over 1600 of friends of
which some visit my profile daily. But I am really into personal development and
spirituality.

There is a part that is still untold to you so far
From grade 3 to grade 6, it was my darkest hour. In grade 3 to 4, my parents were not
in harmony, my grade started to fall and my peers started to go against me. And at
grade 5, two of my grand parents passed away a month a part. At the meanwhile, my
parents was sill arguing and my peers stood against me to the point that i have zero
friends and contact. The only solace is to walk across the playground and smile when I
observe someone play.
From grade seven and onwards, it seems like people started to like me. Hey might be
because i moved to Canada when i was 13 at grade 7. I become a popular girl since
then. If you google my English name "Vivian So" Among the top 10 google search
results, 2 to 4 links will be attribute to me. And if you look at Alexa ranking. You will find
majority of them are Canada visitor and most of them are accessing my website from
Victoria, BC

But I am still a humble lady. Perhaps because I experienced my dark hours, at a young
age, I already questions myself who I am, what i want to be, why I am here on earth,
what are my emotions, and why i feel the way i feel.

By the time I joined a 2nd church here at Victoria, I baptized and confessed as Christian.
Not because I was raised in Catholic school, but because I cannot not deny how God
has save my life over and over again on daily basis.

I told you I got sick in grade 11, what I didn't complete the story, is that I didn't tell you
what happened next. When I was a kid, my parents come home late at night, and
sometimes i only saw mother because father was on business trip. And we were like
high middle classes, enjoyed many luxury, include hired a maid. My mother often
brought me and my younger brother to shopping, but I was not very happy. i wanted to
see father, and I wanted my mother not to only look over my homework when she got
home late at night. They never asked about my feeling and what happened at school.
They never knew i was abandon by peers from grade 3 to 6 until when i got sick in
grade 11. God brought them closer to me. My parents pay more attention to me and I
started to leave my room door open when I am there instead of locking myself up in my
room.

It was a pro-founding moment.
And I was so into gospel that I started to write my own devotional journal that was
gaining popular online. Again, i feel pressured. The pressure from human expectation.
My pride in my own singing voice and sharp questions and wit in bible study. All that
make me decide to leave the church. But I was one of the very best in my bible study. I
was a general manager of children fellowship, I was church library assistant, i help
leading worship in fellowship, was in church annual skits, and even once or twice lead
bible study. One of my article was also feature on an online Christian magazine.

I left church. And I started to interest in psychic ability. Some of those experiences I
have with six senses, if I were told you, you wouldn't believe in me. All I can tell you is, I
did tarot reading, and to those who received one, think it was pretty accurate. And then I
suddenly come back to Christianity because God finally answer one of my prayers. Not
only did He shows how He guarded my best girlfriend through the years we are friends
and have answered her prayers as she prayed for signs, He personal answer my
questions in regards to what is faith and why faith is so concrete. He shows me what is
faithful and He shows me how to become patience, attentive, compassionate,
passionate, devotion, caring, and love. I have become what I prayed for. I have known
what I asked. I always say, whatever advice I gave to others it always does two things:
1) The message I gave to others is exactly what I needed to hear 2) Whoever happened
to hear just happened meant to hear it. You can say that's because I am empathetic and
intuitive, but nothing in short to say it is in His Grace that I have changed.

Some people think I am foresight, forecasting, mapping, planning, whatever they called
me. But from all that I ever breathe I can only say, If it wasn't for God, I couldn't have
never achieve what I have accomplished. And I will only accomplished more, when my
eyes stay focus on Him.

I come to know the following is my strengths: 1) Social, 2) Conversationalist, 3)
Insightful 4) Creative, 5) Problem Solving 6) Leadership 7) Visionary 8) Self Knowledge
9) Great Singer 10) Animated/Cheery

And if a business that I want to start, I would want to host internet radio show where it is
recorded and the recorded version can be sold in package. Creating audio clips that
later can be use in seminar, membership site, private label right and more. And if there
one thing that I am most passionate is spirituality. Not necessary church focus, but
definitely involve moving the mass, and bringing out the best in others.

And to that here I enclose in this short introduction.
I am in process of seeking and creating a team of people that can utilize the skills and
talents of the whole teams where we can work together to make life worth more and live
better.

And, I trust that I am making things happen, that some day I will become a successful
internet marketer, earning a living and lifestyle that I ever want. But material things was
never the goal. Relationship building is.
