1. Oklahoma Coffee Roasters
Many people start becoming coffee lovers and soon upgrade their status to espresso
lover. This is a natural progression as most people have never tasted this amazing
drink until they have already made their way into some real cafes. There are many
different ways to make espresso, but most consumers will be using a machine in
their home that makes the process a snap. With this in mind, the most important
thing you can do to assure you have an amazing cup of Joe every time is find the
right coffee roast or blend to use in you machine.
The first thing to consider is that your machine is going to be putting a lot of
pressure on the coffee grounds to press out the most amazing and flavorful parts of
the bean. This means that an oil heavy blend is not going to be optimal. Much of the
flavor does come from these natural oils, but if there is too much, the grounds will
become a solid block as the machine is brewing and this can damage the machine or
just cause constant clogs that are no fun to clear.
Choosing the beans that you will use to make a rich and sweet blend for your
espresso is really where the rubber meets the road. You must start from a great
blend to end up with a truly succulent end result. Purchasing pre-ground store
brands is not suggested, but you can test these brands to see which flavors you
personally connect with.
Many people wonder why great espresso must be produced from a blend of different
beans and the answer is simple: different beans possess different desirable qualities.
This means when you are hunting for the perfect blend, you have to know what you
are looking for. There are many different types of beans that can be used to make a
great blend and meet your taste requirements. However, for espresso the two types
of bean you must have are a dry processed bean (mainly for the creme on top of the
espresso) and a wet processed bean (for the rich robust flavor and aroma). Every
espresso lover will have to test with a few different beans to make it most acceptable
to their own palate, but this is where your search must begin.
As far as grinding the beans, it is important to have a very fine and very consistent
blend. Some machines do a better job than others at achieving this and you may
have to spend a little more to get a great coffee grinder, but it will be worth it in the
long run. Enjoy brewing, experimenting and creating your perfect espresso roast, the
journey is half of the fun.
