This document serves as the official report for the 2013 National Exchange and Leadership Development Seminar (NeXLDS) hosted by AIESEC Ilorin in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The 5-day conference included sessions on leadership development and youth empowerment and was attended by 189 AIESEC members. It was successfully executed within the budget of 2.1 million Naira, which was funded through sponsorship and delegate fees. Highlights included the election of a new Member Committee President, social events like an old school party and pool party, and a day of external sessions with guest speakers. The closing remarks recognized the success of the conference in furthering the goals of AIESEC Nigeria.
YEDIS Empowered Underserved Young Artisans in Nigeria's Marginalised Communit...Rafiu Olaore
Youths Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS), in partnership with Elites Club of Aagba, organized a one-day Entrepreneurship and Capacity-Building Workshop titled 'Enhancing Entrepreneurial Skills of Young Artisans in the Aagba Community, Osun State, Nigeria, on 9 March 2024. Aagba is among marginalized communities in Osun State, with many skilful young artisans who need quality education, adequate infrastructure, and substantive resources to advance their businesses, decent jobs, and achieve economic development.
YEDIS Executive Director Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore opined that collaboration between community leaders, government, and civil society organizations would be needed to achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals Agenda 2030. He reiterated the challenges facing young people in marginalized communities, both inadequate infrastructure and digital divides and pleaded for adequate support. Rafiu Olaore suggested that the underserved Nigerian youth can innovatively develop business initiatives for the nation's economic and sustainable development if they have access to the resources, opportunities, and a conducive environment. He narrated the YEDIS contributions to the youths' gainful employment, primarily young women and girls and community development since the launch of the NGO in February 2020. Rafiu Olaore emphasizes the need to invest in agriculture by supporting young farmers for food security, zero hunger and reducing poverty.

3. ExecutiveSummary
The National Exchange and Leadership development Seminar NeXLDS is the annual
meeting of the national body of the organization. This time around, the conference was
hosted by AIESEC ILORIN in Ilorin, Kwara State. It provided an opportunity for the
leaders and members of the Organization to meet for 5 days of intense discussion, sharing
and learning which will propel the Organization forward.
The Conference was held at Royal Shekinah Grand Suites, Ajase-Ipo road, Ilorin, Kwara
state.
In total, there were 189 AIESEC members in attendance for the conference:

7. BudgetforNeXLDS2013
Few months to the conference, the organizing committee designed a rough
budget that would be able to account for every expenses made. We had
different alternative plans just in case we hit a dead-end in our initial plan.
Along the line, the conference manager paid us a visit and supported us
strategically and made things a bit easier for us. Finally, we narrowed our
budget to the figures below;

8. Income
The organizing committee sold the conference to so many organizations (small,
medium and large scale), the Alumni body of AIESEC Ilorin, Board of Advisor
members, Kwara state government, etc. so as to raise funds for the conference or

Day0 –Arrivals
On the arrival night, after receiving every
delegation, a movie titled “Captain Philips” was
played at the hotel’s cinema hall and a total of 65
delegates paid a token of NGN 400 each to see the
movie. During the course of this, room allocations
were catered for and at the end of the movie,
delegate were allowed to move into their allocated
rooms. Small chops such as rock bons and a drink
were given to every delegates that same night.

Day1 –Opening Ceremony
This day marked the beginning of a remarkable NeXLDS
2013. Sessions were ran and also the Member Committee
President Elections was conducted on the very day…..
The various LCs that were on full membership status
casted their votes after the applicants gave their
manifestoes and had series of discussion (AIESEC and
Non-AIESEC related), Tolu Taiwo was elected to be the
MCP for AIESEC Nigeria 2014.15

Day2: SocialNight (Old school / BoatraceParty)
The social agenda was tagged old
school party. During this, a boat
race was conducted and Abraham
Iyiola was the chair for the event.
AIESEC in Abuja emerged as the
winners of the competition.

Day3
Session for this day were held in two
different halls. The first ran from 9am to
4pm in the main hall and the second from
4pm till 8pm in a smaller hall due to the
fact that an event was to hold in the main
hall.

Day3 : SocialNight (Pool Party)
We believe all work and no play makes jack a dull boy. Our
night agenda for day 3 was held at the hotel’s pool being that
we had included this in the MoU we signed with the hotel
management.
An organization called Shonga farms supported the
conference with 50 frozen chicken and this was prepared and
was shared to every delegate at the pool party.

was a daylong event (7th
December, 2013) that provided
an avenue for global business to
converse with global youth.

Student affairs, Unilorin was also
at the event.
17. ClosingRemarks
The BOA Chairman and members, the Alumni, Partners and Sponsors, Distinguished
delegates of NeXLDS 2013, Ladies and Gentlemen, on behalf of the Organizing
Committee, the Facilitators and the Chair (all regarded as "the Knights"), I believe we
lived up to our expectations as regards NeXLDS 2013.I would like to express my
sincere thanks to you all for your support and cooperation in ensuring the success of a
remarkable NeXLDS 2013.
