This document compares the social bookmarking sites Delicious and Diigo. It begins by explaining what social bookmarking is and how it allows users to save web pages and organize them using tags. It then discusses the key features of each site, such as how bookmarks can be shared publicly on Delicious, while Diigo offers additional tools like bookmark highlighting and notetaking. Finally, the document notes that while Delicious was one of the earliest social bookmarking sites, Diigo has more recently evolved to provide more collaborative features for organizing bookmarks in groups and classes.
Openness has become widely embraced but maintaining it will require ongoing effort to prevent a closing off of ideas and information. While sharing information freely was once seen as radical or immoral, it is now viewed by many as a moral duty, though commercial and political forces still seek to restrict access and flow of information at times. Overall the documents discuss how open sharing of information and ideas has become more accepted and commonplace but vigilance is still needed to ensure openness continues.

Smart Technology and Stupid Users (or the Other Way Around)imec
A SuperMinds 2014 Talk by Jan Derboven (iMinds - CUO - KU Leuven).
'Smart' has become a key term in today's technology: digital devices are increasingly getting better at responding to people in an intelligent way. We all have smart devices that track our behaviour, and use that information to anticipate specific situations, react intelligently, and even talk to us. In a world with devices that understand us and know what we mean, the gap between dumb technology and smart people seems to be narrowing. What does this mean for the design of our technology? Jan Derboven will discuss user control and transparency in the design of smart technologies today, and in the future.

This document discusses using a genetic algorithm to optimize the game play of the open-source chess program GNU-Chess. A genetic algorithm is a method for solving optimization problems that is inspired by Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection. The document proposes using e-mail to distribute the evaluation of potential solutions to the distributed computing network BOINC in order to refine the game play evaluation functions for GNU-Chess through genetic optimization.

This document outlines factors that contribute to business failure in high-technology startups. It identifies internal failure factors such as lack of managerial experience, narrow business focus, and overcommitment to the venture. External failure factors include market implosions and lack of access to capital. The intersection of internal and external factors can also lead to failure. Some key lessons are to be clinical about the business, know when to let go of an ailing firm, learn from past mistakes, and don't be afraid to start again.

The poem expresses that humans are not designed to be independent or self-sufficient, but are meant to rely fully on God. It lists many things people tend to rely on instead of God, such as their own wisdom, desires, possessions, and judgment. The reflection emphasizes that living outside of our intended design as beings dependent on God leads to negative consequences, while aligning our lives and hearts with our purpose of relying on God brings positive effects.
Here are the notes from my sermon on July 8, 2018. We looked at why we should make Jesus known and how we can do that. In the last part of the sermon, I focused on how we can share our testimony.
This document provides guidance on how to share one's Christian testimony. It discusses why sharing a testimony is important, including because Jesus commanded it and it is an effective way to glorify God and share the gospel. It then offers an outline for constructing a testimony, including sections on one's life before committing to Jesus, how they came to faith, and how their life has changed since following Jesus. The document concludes by providing best practices for sharing a testimony, such as keeping it focused on Jesus, being humble, and practicing delivery.
The document discusses what the gospel is and why it is important. It defines the gospel as the good news that Jesus rescues people from sin and its consequences through his life, death, and resurrection. This salvation involves justification, sanctification, and glorification. The gospel is God's power to save all who believe in Jesus as the Son of God. False gospels focus on other things besides Jesus or contradict the Bible. The true gospel centers on Jesus and is foundational to Christianity.
The document discusses following one's heart with opposing views presented. It suggests following your heart will be fine, while also noting the heart can be deceitful and difficult to understand according to a Bible verse. The short document presents two contrasting perspectives on following one's heart without making a clear recommendation.

Jesus conquered Satan's reign over the world through his supernatural birth, sinless life, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection. By his resurrection, Jesus confirmed he was the Son of God and had overcome sin, death, and hell, restoring God's reign over creation and allowing rebellious people to be reconciled to God. We must believe this good news, turn from rebellion to God, trust in Jesus as our king, and follow and obey him.

The sides I used with my Toastmasters speech from the Competent Communication manual, project #8 - Get Comfortable with Visual Aids on February 17, 2015.
This document outlines the requirements and goals for a Toastmasters club to achieve Distinguished Club status. It explains the 10 club goals which include having a minimum number of members, achieving educational awards like Competent Communicator, and training club officers. It describes the Distinguished Club Program and Club Success Plan, which provide strategies and resources to help clubs set goals and track their progress towards achieving Distinguished status. The conclusion emphasizes that a healthy, Distinguished club benefits all members by bringing in new members and ideas, improving members' speaking and leadership skills through educational growth, and providing recognition.
