About
• A soft drink is a drink that usually contains water (often carbonated), a
sweetener, and a natural and/or artificial flavoring. The sweetener may
be a sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, fruit juice, a sugar substitute (in
the case of diet drinks), or some combination of these.
• Soft drinks may also contain caffeine, colorings, preservatives, and/or
other ingredients.
• Soft drinks are called "soft" in contrast with "hard" alcoholic drinks.
Small amounts of alcohol may be present in a soft drink, but the
alcohol content must be less than 0.5%
Categories of Soft Drinks
• Carbonated Soft Drinks:
• Contains carbon di-oxide. Ex – Pepsi, Coco-Cola, Fanta
• Non Carbonated Soft Drinks:
• Do not contain carbon di-oxide. Ex – Juices, Nectars, Squashes, etc

1. Ready to drink(RTD): e.g. All Colas and juices
2. Dilute to taste: e.g. All syrups and Squashes

Health Benefits
We Drink this Stuff!
Off Course to Clean Our System Too
After all we are paying for it 💸.
It also help during indigestion 😁.
Harmful Effects
The average pH of soft drinks, e.g. Coke & Pepsi is 3.4. This acidity is strong
enough to dissolve teeth and bones! Our human body stops building bones
around the age of 30. After that it shall be dissolving the bones every year
through the urine depending on the acidity of the food intake. All the dissolved
calcium compounds get accumulated in the arteries, veins, skin, tissue and
organs, which affects the functioning of the kidney assisting in formation of
kidney stones.
• Soft drinks do not have any nutritional value (in terms of vitamins
and minerals). They have higher sugar content, higher acidity more
additives such as preservatives and colorings. Some people like to
take cold soft drinks after each meal.
• Our body has an optimum temperature of 37⁰ for the functioning
of digestive enzymes. The temperature of cold soft drinks is much
less than 37, sometimes quite close 0. This lowers the effectiveness
of the enzymes and puts stress on our digestive system, digesting
less food.
For Example
There was a competition in Delhi University "Who can drink the most
Coke?" The winner drank 8 bottles and died on the spot because of
too much carbon dioxide the blood and not enough oxygen 😐.
Thank you
