El objetivo de esta investigación es caracterizar la productividad de los talleres de transformación secundaria de madera de la ciudad de
Quibdó, Chocó. El tipo de investigación utilizado en el estudio es descriptivo y el método es observacional, como muestra se seleccionaron 50 talleres de ebanisterías del sector de fabricación de muebles de madera. Los instrumentos empleados para recabar la información fueron: encuesta semiestructurada, visitas observacionales y conversaciones informales con propietarios y trabajadores del gremio. La productividad de las ebanisterías se analizó desde los procesos operacionales, recurso humano e indicadores económicos y financieros.
En términos económicos y financieros, la productividad de los talleres se caracterizó por ser rentable, siendo la relación beneficio/costo superior a uno (1); los indicadores evaluados demuestran que los procesos operacionales se realizan conforme con los planes de cada
taller y el recurso humano tiene las habilidades y destrezas para realizar los trabajos, además de cumplir con sus funciones. La investigación
permite concluir que el sector de fabricación de muebles tiene potencial de desarrollo y factores que están a su favor para mejorar los

This project aims to improve primary education in 2 districts in western Jharkhand, India. It will work in 80 schools over 3 years to help children achieve grade-appropriate learning levels in language and math. Key strategies include strengthening teachers' capacity for child-friendly teaching methods, and increasing community involvement in school governance. The project will provide trained volunteers, teaching materials, and capacity building for 800 teachers and School Management Committee members. Baseline studies have begun to assess learning levels, teaching quality, and community participation to guide the project. An estimated 7,000 children will benefit from improved education opportunities.
Ready, Steady, Green! - Corporate Engagment Awards Winner 2015
Starting with 8.5 tonnes of general waste going to landfill, the Fresh Olive Company implemented an environmental campaign to achieve zero landfill status. Being a food manufacturer with 130 employees it was imperative the employees get on board and fully back the initiative. This was both an environmental and internal communications challenge.
Working closely with Veris, they developed a creative stakeholder communications programme – Ready, Steady, Green! that was fun and resulted in operational improvements. The programme educated and inspired employees to do more with less through interactive workshops and visual communications tools. The interest and enthusiasm of the employees is maintained with additional seasonal campaigns.
The results were impressive, with green behaviours being embedded as a central focus of the business. Zero landfill status has been achieved, items have been donated to local charities and inedible food waste is now sent to Anaerobic Digestion which saves an impressive amount of carbon. Together, they proved that sustainable behaviours don’t need to be tedious or boring.

El tipo de investigación utilizado en el estudio es descriptivo y el método es observacional, como muestra se seleccionaron 50 talleres de ebanisterías del sector de fabricación de muebles de madera. Los instrumentos empleados para recabar la información fueron: encuesta semiestructurada, visitas observacionales y conversaciones informales con propietarios y trabajadores del gremio. La productividad de las ebanisterías se analizó desde los procesos operacionales, recurso humano e indicadores económicos y financieros.
En términos económicos y financieros, la productividad de los talleres se caracterizó por ser rentable, siendo la relación beneficio/costo superior a uno (1); los indicadores evaluados demuestran que los procesos operacionales se realizan conforme con los planes de cada

This project aims to improve primary education in 2 districts in western Jharkhand, India. It will work in 80 schools over 3 years to help children achieve grade-appropriate learning levels in language and math. Key strategies include strengthening teachers' capacity for child-friendly teaching methods, and increasing community involvement in school governance. The project will provide trained volunteers, teaching materials, and capacity building for 800 teachers and School Management Committee members. Baseline studies have begun to assess learning levels, teaching quality, and community participation to guide the project. Ready, Steady, Green! - Corporate Engagment Awards Winner 2015
Starting with 8.5 tonnes of general waste going to landfill, the Fresh Olive Company implemented an environmental campaign to achieve zero landfill status. Being a food manufacturer with 130 employees it was imperative the employees get on board and fully back the initiative. This was both an environmental and internal communications challenge.
Working closely with Veris, they developed a creative stakeholder communications programme – Ready, Steady, Green! that was fun and resulted in operational improvements. The programme educated and inspired employees to do more with less through interactive workshops and visual communications tools. The interest and enthusiasm of the employees is maintained with additional seasonal campaigns.
The results were impressive, with green behaviours being embedded as a central focus of the business. Zero landfill status has been achieved, items have been donated to local charities and inedible food waste is now sent to Anaerobic Digestion which saves an impressive amount of carbon. Together, they proved that sustainable behaviours don’t need to be tedious or boring.
